honestly, i wish i had this video when i graduated hs. i got into all the cal states i applied to, but rejected from everywhere else and i felt like community college was the end of the world, but it’s actually such a good option. you save money, still have the option to go to your dream school, and you meet people who have so many different perspectives.

Thanks for the advice bro, I actually got into UCI and UCSD but honestly didn't feel like the two campuses were for me. I decided to take the CC route because my ultimate goal has always been USC. I have always been dedicated and hard-working and for that reason I believed in myself when I decided I would take this high risk high reward opportunity. I am confident I will soon get accepted to USC. Once again, thanks for keeping me motivated and reminding me that all this hard work and sacrifice will, in time, pay off!

This kinda reminds me of when I was fresh out of hs and in the infantry. I was getting rained on in a trench cuddling with my comrades for warmth with a rifle in my arms. I would sneak a look at snap stories under my soaked rain poncho and just see all my friends partying in college and I was like fmllll 😂

Opinions on my situation? I’m a 3.9 GPA 1350 SAT, only took honors and AP classes in high school looking into community college. I’ve gotten into a couple schools I like so far and even my “dream schools” are a target/slight reach school. I’m only thinking of going to CC tho because it’s free instead of paying 30k a year. But the other thing is I’m just naturally smart and unless I have very driven people around me I often slack off and don’t have the best self control. Anyone’s opinion would be appreciated as to what I should do
@di75343 жыл бұрын
No matter where you go to, if you stick with it, you'll be able to receive benefits/opportunities in either choice. It all comes down to you making the most out of the resources handed to you. CC is a great (and smarter) option if you're aiming to be less in debt with your career once college is over (doesn't mean NO debt, just less), but going straight into a 4-year institution is also a good choice if you know what you want to be/do as soon as hs is over. If you know you're naturally smart and work better in environments with people who are also driven to do their part in college, a 4-year is a good way to go. I'm not saying people from CC's don't have that drive to do their maxed out potential, but the likelihood of meeting others in the same boat you're in is greater at a 4-year compared to a CC. Because, CC's accept everyone, and not everybody is in the same stage of their lives as you. At a 4-year, they select a certain amount of individuals that display potential; you're thrown into the world of living by yourself, making decisions on what to eat & wear & pay, and having to handle everything in your own way in a new environment to reach that one certain goal. Why go into that mess so quickly when you have 2 years that'll prepare you? I myself am taking the CC then transfer route because I'll earn and save more money this way, I'm not too heavily impacted by the lack of parties or even people, and I'll be getting rid of those pesky GEDs immediately. I, like you, work better depending on the environment but I maintain my drive only because of myself. People are there, and that's all they'll ever really be. You can engage in conversations, make new lifelong friends, talk to professors and try to put yourself out there- but the experiences are going to be different in both settings depending how you handle them. tl;dr: Going to a CC is smart, only if you know you'll be consistent with your studies for one or two years. If the major drawbacks of a CC impact you so much, then don't go. But if it doesn't, then I recommend going. If it's still stressing you out then keep watching videos and decide. It took me one video from this channel to find out what's best for me, and for you that might not be the case because I don't know what is best for you, only you really do. Hopefully you made your decision already, have a great time wherever you may go!

Melissa Charles I’m in a similar boat with you. I got in to LMU and USF but LMU financial aid wasn’t good. USF gave me good aid but I’m debating on whether or not to take it. I feel like I might do CC grind it out and transfer to a top 25 college. But again CC isn’t that easy and nothing is guaranteed when you transfer.
