I love this type of shop videos. They make me re-think my own shop organization. More of this, please!

New sub here. I am re-everything my workshop and I your explanations -1, 2 and 3 - have absolutely unlocked my headspace. It's exactly what I needed to hear. A creative space is ever evolving but of course it makes sense to prioritise the things that help you progress your skills. Cheers mate!

It’s a never ending cycle. I find myself taking mental notes of everything I see at hardware stores. So many things that could be used for things but it’s a matter of time and remembering. I take a lot of cellphone pictures in stores.

At long last the purpose of the mystery clamps is revealed! Really appreciate your approach to usability and organization. Can be applied to so much more than just the shop. But for now... I'll be happy with just getting my shop in order. Or is this akin to the Zen of Motorcycle Maintenance?

This is the Zen to whatever works for youance. Thanks for the question!!

Very good video. Do you have a background in process engineering? This reminds me of some of the lean manufacturing principles a process engineer taught me when I was working as a boatbuilder.
@KeithsTestGarage4 жыл бұрын
No, but I have some background in usability design for computer applications, which I’d bet shares some similarities with process engineering and certainly applies to this video (and a lot of this channel). Process engineering sounds fun though. Thanks for the comment! Boat builder....What kind of boats?

@@KeithsTestGarage Keith, It was high end production wakeboarding boats. More of a manufacturing job than any kind of fine woodworking. It was my first job out of the Navy. Now I'm building a 20ft Old Wharf Lumberyard Skiff but strictly as a hobby. Thanks for the content. I subscribed as I like your analytical approach. I'm a long-time shop slob trying seeking to use my CNC router to get organized.

A tips style video that isn't "hey, this video is 5 tips you've seen on every youtubers page ever and you probably already knew them before you watched their videos!" haha. Thanks.
