Wow, Ms. Ofori was really refreshing. I loved her transparency, and I loved the question about Old Hollywood vs today's 'exposed' Hollywood. It reiterated how important your 'why' is behind every project. This interview has something for Directors, Producers, Writers and Actors. Great Job.

She should be a writer. Did you notice the way she set up the a-ha moment in her explanation? And that was just off the top of her head. Actually, why would you want to read what she has to say when you can watch her say it. Just marry me, lol. I suppose what I am saying is that I approve of this interview and this lady. Goobye

Stars don't sell tickets the way they used to. Obviously if you're making films on smaller level, having a household name is a way to make sure your film gets some eyes on it it otherwise would not, but studios have moved on from betting on films just because there's a star in the lead role. Sure, they still cast known actors, but the point is that the hook for the films are not the star power the way it was up until about 10 years ago where Will Smith and Arnold Schwartzenegger could make a tub of piss make money. Now studios bet on intellectual properties with built-in audiences. They can budget around the expected viewership that they know will come out for the particular property and there's almost no risk.

Not sure why this channel is getting so few views. Is it because they post videos so frequently that it is overwhelming to their subscribers? I'm never skipping ads on this channel cause I want y'all to get the ad revenue you deserve.
@FlavioDeFeo4 жыл бұрын
Neil Carriel I think it all boils down to title and thumbnails... compared to other channels, they keep things simple and honest, instead of resorting to sensational (clickbait) titles and flashy over saturated thumbnails 🤷🏻♂️ but I’m just guessing
@ivansosa32184 жыл бұрын
I thought the same at some point, but then I realised that it's much better that way, 'cause that means that there aren't many people getting these pieces of advice - and that means less competence in a way.

Love her awareness and ability to put that awareness into easily understandable rhetoric. Awareness is key. What's going on in the world and how do you capture that and create something from that.

For me filmmaking is a craft of love and passion, and as such I look for different ways of producing those crafts of love and passion. If there were not other filmmakers and writers like me, then many meaningful projects would not get made, as let's face it there are many distributed and financed films that lack a lot of substance. Financing and 'stars' do not equate to a good or a powerful film.

@Flavio De Feo It takes all kinds of visions, perspectives, and motivations to create movies. I am glad there are those who are driven by a passion to tell and share a story.
@StoryToGo4 жыл бұрын
NRG 73 not pretentious, rather just pointing out that there are other driving forces to making a film then the almighty dollar and distribution deals. And gatekeepers don’t decide quality or the power of a story. You just need to have a look around this platform to discover examples of that.
