If I cornrow my hair after washing it and using my leave-in and homemade whipped mango and shea butter, I can go 2 weeks between washes and it's still moisturized and hydrated when I take them down. How do you make the mask? I have fenugreek seeds ready to go! Lol

I hope it is OK with @Curly Chemistry to share here... but I'm only a beginner. I fermented some fernugreek seeds and after removing the fermented water, I blended the seeds with some fresh aloe vera leaf gel. As the seeds were soft it blended easily with the aloe. Together they have great slip and are very easy to apply. I added a little grapeseed oil. Sorry I really didn't do measurements but I made sure not to use too much aloe as it will make the mask too watery. Quantities will really depend on your hair length but bare in mind that due to the slip in both ingredients you do not need large quantities. So if you make a little too much just separate and freeze. I did that and the Next wash day after defrosting, it worked just as well as when it was freshly done. I hope that helps. I'm still learning and learning my hair and tweaking as I go.

Great content as always. Now, I learnt in the past year that my scalp hates long term protective styles such as 6 weeks braid etc. No, ma'am, my scalp will be on fire! If I try to wash it while the braid is on, another trouble! It will upset the balance of my scalp so, once I realised this, I've known peace!

I've learned that my hair needs protein treatments. I also need to take better care of my ends. I agree with you about consistency and results. I used to ACV rinse and prepoo and stopped because I didn't think it was helping my itchy scalp and was just more work. However, I recently learned that I am allergic/sensitive to Amidoamine which is in EVERYTHING! So now we're on the journey to find products without it but that also work well with my hair. LOVE your videos!!!

I've learned that my scalp doesn't like oils, my hair is happier with a detangling brush as opposed to finger detangling and my kinks love PMP! 💃🏾

I've gone back to using hair grease. Water and grease make my curls so juicy. I prefer a wild fro, but if i want it to grow, I need to moisturize.

I learned the benefits of hair grease. I was adamant against it and would have never thought it would be beneficial for my hair or would have made my hair feel as great as it does. I was wrong! Tonya, thank you for the introduction into the hair grease world. My WNG’s have never lasted so long and looked so good! I addicted now 😀

The one thing I have learned about my hair is that my hair does not like the same styling products for too long. Usually 6 months I can use a product and it looks great, and then it stops looking greqt, and I have to find a new one and go back to the product at a later date. 😫

Lately, been using Rice water, Rosemary oil and massage scalp using silicon spikes. Rice water really helps with split ends. I also do different hair masks; Smashed up avocados, smashed bananas, an egg olive oil, honey one. After a banana or avocado hair mask my hair actually looks SO HEALTHY for the day ooh lala☺

I used to have crazy dandruff flakes in my hair, and I didn't understand why since I regularly shampoo and deep condition. I used to do an overnight pre-poo with aloe vera gel, water and oil on my scalp. I saw or read somewhere that having a wet scalp overnight can cause dandruff. I stopped that pre-poo method and haven't noticed any flakes since then. I now do a hot-oil hair treatment right before I shampoo.

the only oil that I use directly on my scalp is jojoba oil mixed with tea tree oil....other than that, I use oils as pre-poo on wash day only on my HAIR ( not scalp)....I've noticed that I no longer see those lil pimples. A daily mist of a mixture of fenugreek is a MUST for my ends and hair overall

I agree. I used to buy all those butters, creams etc. But now I keep it very simple. Cut hair in first lock down now growing it back. But what you ingest is the most important. Green vegetables, no processed food, no sugar and intermittent fasting on a regular basis. Lol from England.

I have a question, the crown of my scalp is always sore no matter what I do. What is the reason for this? I don't over manipulate my hair and I'm not rough with my hair either. It's just always sore no matter what. Sometimes it's super sore and sometimes it's more mild. What can I do to fix this?

I learned that my hair loves products with Jamaican black castor oil and apple cider vinegar in them. I always used oil that had castor oil as one of the base oils. It makes sense why. Lately I’ve been using shampoo and conditioner that has both of them in it, and my hair loves it. I noticed that my hair has gotten fuller, and it’s more voluminous when styling it.

I got whatever that thing is where your scalp is super sensitive around the temples and your hair thins out. It's become very soft and fine there. And it's incredibly fragile. Focusing my protein and other treatments there and massaging every wash day has helped a bit, but my temples just don't wanna grow back! 😭 That's why I tried Fenugreek in the first place. I thought it might be a shedding thing. The hair has double since, but that just means it's an inch 🤷🏾♀️🤣

I also learned that my hair hates pure petroleum (aka grease). I have been trying to make it work for years due to the “new grease movement” but unfortunately, it doesn’t work for me. Thinking back to my childhood in the 1980s, my mother never used it on my hair for the same reason.

Part your scalp hairs, carefully examine by feeling with your fingers, and also while looking close up in a mirror. You should be able to both see & feel bumps, abrasions, or any irritation.
