Can I get into airborne with a rod and plate in my leg? Doesn’t affect me at all, no pain, no loss of range of motion. Everything is good. What’s the likelihood of me being able to get into that school ?
@mrblack73026 ай бұрын
That in itself is disqualifying for the army. I recommend going to a recruiter and seeing if you can get a waiver. I can guarantee that you won’t be allowed to do an airborne physical. However exemptions to policies do exist and is how I got in but I didn’t have any leg issues. As long as the etp goes through you should be able to skip the physical. I don’t know the chances of having the rod get waived unfortunately

Made the mistake of going and quitting. Worse mistake and dealing with the consequences. But want to definitely fix that mistake and go back. Do you know if I would get rejected if I tried to reenlist with an airborne contract atttched ? Or am I good to go as long as a slot opens?
@williamcousins15963 жыл бұрын
Same here man, you may return so long as they didn’t give you a do not return status when you were dropped. Once you’re in your reenlistment window, I’d get the school as an incentive and go back, which is what I’m doing

I have a slight fear/vertigo of heights and made it through. The hardest problem was the 34 foot tower. One can still see gravel and grass. Got through the initial jumping by focusing on my toes. At higher heights, everything is just colors, you can't see gravel and blades of grass so the dizzy feeling is not there as much.

I have a question! So when you land on the ground are you literally going limp and falling onto the ground or do you try to land on your feet when you get close to landing??
@TheBenAllen.4 жыл бұрын
Exactly what they said, go limp, when you land.
@era_of_tech4 жыл бұрын
The term is called a PLF, while landing under a parachute canopy, the jumper's feet strike the ground first and, immediately, he throws himself sideways to distribute the landing shock sequentially along five points of body contact with the ground: the balls of the feet the side of the calf the side of the thigh the side of the hip, or buttocks the side of the back Very effective method.

Black hats hollered for my to pull my reserve but I didn't know they were yelling at me. Obviously I survived I'm texting. No broken bones and I ran off of the DZ. All I'm worried about is not breaking my legs
@immortal44713 жыл бұрын
why would you be worried you don't break your legs? that seems like a good thing.
@96Delta Жыл бұрын
You won't if you follow your training. The problem today is that they load troopers up with so much gear they literally waddle to the door. That kind of load can cause injuries. Most training jumps are Hollywood (no gear) or light gear (rifle only). They are no sweat. But when you are carrying a full deployment load, you can barely walk. The chutes were redesigned to accommodate that weight but there's always a tradeoff. Just focus on doing excellent PLF's and you'll be fine. Them bitches tried to give me an M203 and I declined. No way I was gonna be able to carry a full combat load and grenades with that thing! Whew! AIRBORNE!

No worries it is a Static Line jump which means that you don't have to be conscience to deploy the chute. Weak exits can cause you hitting the side of the aircraft but you will land relatively safe.
