You will hate it trust me. Most frustrating, overworked, unrewarding job on this planet earth. No cap!! The contractor will make sure you are mentally drained and physically disabled by the end of every shift!! I promise you that. They will also give you the shittiest route since you’re new. They’ll give you a route into the heart of downtown city. Your route will probably consist of more businesses than residential stops. Which means you will have to fight for parking with other customers with your gigantic truck. That itself kills time and your boss will pressure tf out if you. I was thrown 300 packages everyday. The most I’ve ever done was 345. Plus, peak season is going to suck the soul out of you. You will feel the utmost defeatness a human being has ever felt. If that’s even a word. Oh yeah and you’ll do pick ups. That’s the worse!! Pick ups can range from 100-1000 packages to pick up. On top of delivering your 345 packages. I quit after a month 💀😂 don’t do FedEx ground 🚫

Your guys are corporate and follow major guidelines and company policies. While we operate more freely and independently and only have to answer to our contractor. I've been a driver for almost 3 years now. I get paid salary and take home much more than an express driver who's been a driver for 5 years in the company. You guys get a 3 percent raise every year. You get all your days after 90 days not after a year working there. Plus you get 5 extra sick days that are not paid days so you get 10 days off before you start to lose points for your attendance. And we are not expected to be there all day at least at my station we have people that come to help if you need it so if you choose not to get help then that’s on you not FedEx. Us managers also come out on the roads to bring our guys and girls stuff like extra ice and waters and snack if they don’t have anything on them specially during the summer we take care of our workers cuz we know how hard it gets out there. So if you going to make videos of the FedEx make sure you know what you saying my guy. Cuz we are always looking for new people and you making videos like this makes people not what to work for FedEx

The bad thing is the hubs are alot spread out so if you want to switch locations you basically have to drive to another city , so a hour drive might not be worth it at least for amazon the stations are not as spread out as fedex 👌

I'm going to apply at fedex here in westchester county, NY this upcoming week. I know the work life balance is heavily towards the work side, but are you required to work weekends or not? also, is overtime up to you or are you expected to do it? I know fedex is on a desperate hiring process right now because of all the work that needs to get done but let me know. also, how to they treat overtime? Is it time and a half pay?
@espitv17873 жыл бұрын
it depends what position you applied for some position are tues-sat. or mon-friday. but even if you have mon-fri you may still be asked to work on the weekend because of demand or needs of location. yes OT is time and a half.

I was hired on non-dot courier. While I am being trained I work Monday through Friday off weekends. Thanksgiving we all work 6 day work weeks. After holidays I go to Monday off Tuesday and Wednesday through Friday off weekends. Can't beat it. I used to work for a home medical company for years and years and I was on-call all the damn time.

Are the hours different for the part time drivers? Will you still work 12+ hours?
@espitv17873 жыл бұрын
For part time drivers they are more strict on your hours, since your only allowed 25 hours per week, if you do work a 12 hour day then you will only have 13 hours for the rest of the week. so the rest of the week might be short. it depends what the needs of fedex are for that month/week

I'm hired as part time with my station at Express, and we are allowed to get as many hours as we want. Last week I worked 3 days, 12 hour shifts plus my 2 days doing my pickup route, I guess it depends on location, but where I'm at if you want to work, you get the hours, full time or part time. Only difference is the benefits you get, and the ability to have your own route.

Well my current job cut all our hours down to 70 per month. So I need a new job. And this week I have an interview with FedEx Express. After watching several videos about working for FedEx. I'm starting to wonder if I even want to work there. At least if I drive for Amazon I can smoke weed still. Amazon has no drug testing in Washington State. Conveniently, Amazon and FedEx are on the same block. It's a close location for me. Anyway thanks for the info.
