I am currently in the onboarding process. This video is very accurate. I luckily applied on a Wednesday and they were interviewing on a Friday. They did a MVR check and background check. That Monday after everything came back good the operations manager called and confirmed everything. I did my drug screen on a Wed. and by that next Wednesday I was contacted to start the training videos. I now the timeliness from here and I will have an idea of how it works. My location here in NC has a driver trainer that comes to our location and does our on the road training. I am excited and think it is a great opportunity for advancement. Walked in did the interview walked out 2 hours later got a message saying you are hired. You get hired based on a score how well you answer the questions. They say there is no right or wrong answers but it applies to your hiring process. Next step was to fill out my social , date of birth online, then dot test.

I’m currently Amazon delivery driver and I saw FedEx express hiring just across the street from Amazon warehouse. Lol hopefully I can get in FedEx. Hope the pay rate starts in $20 in FedEx coz us in Amazon is only $18.50 and I’m driving box truck and get paid the same with new hired drivers.

@@nycas2192 check Amazon. After a year they have a ton of options. One of these is paid CDL training. If you don’t want to wait. A CDL school that will pay for your training however most likely a contact for a year driving for them. For the package cars at UPS,Amazon or FedEx. These don’t require CDLs.

Tell me about a time you dealt with a lot of change at work and include what type of change you experienced how it impacted your work and how did you adjust. I just had an interview yesterday Tuesday, May 3rd 2021 with FedEx Express. They asked the same questions in your video. They said the process can take 1-2weeks or longer that they'll have to send the notes to the recruiter and will send a offer letter. Will the offer letter be E-mail or will they send in the mail? I used to be a driver for UPS delivering packages driving box trucks, vans even longer trucks I didn't even know UPS had. With UPS I also went to the school and passed. Will FedEx Do the same sending having schooling?

Very cool sounds like you did really well so congrats on your interview. They will probably send it through email or they will send it to your account where you applied. Fedex will train you on how to drive the trucks its more of a training day behind the wheel and walking you through everything.

Hey do FedEx express drivers use Roadwarrior or GPS apps? The LEOs don’t have gps and it’s not easy relying on maps to get to know all the areas especially being swing drivers

This must be post covid hiring process. 5 years ago they sent new hires to courier school for a week. Mine was in Dallas. They send you with an $1,800 check and trust you to be responsible with it lol.

So, I had my interview last Wednesday and I thought I did well because I have 2 years of Amazon experience so the questions were easy to answer. He mentioned they were hiring a bunch of drivers, but he didn't say I had the job at the interview or send me to take a drug test. He looked at my drivers license and social security card and then said "look for something in 2-3 weeks" I hope that isn't a rejection email. LOL What do you think?

Unorganized, bad technology, 1030 commit times, 75 percent of the route were businesses that need signatures, and as an added bonus I gained all my weight back I lost at Amazon. I'm headed back to Amazon and will do Doordash on the side. Only regret is not getting those benefits, but at the end of the day I was happier at Amazon. Listen to my earphones, drop the package and go, just chill.

It really all depends. when hired, you will be assigned to what they call a loop. A loop consisted of 3-5 cities. so each day you'll be somewhere within those cities, either helping existing routes or covering a route from someone who may have called out. As far as i know they hire anyone as long as you have customer service background

As far as i know if you are non DOT you cant drive the longer white fedex box trucks but im not sure exactly why or what determines what you can and cannot drive.

Hi. Do you still work at express? Can you elaborate more on defensive driving and road test? How much time do you get to practice? Do you practice inside the warehouse with cones or do you go out on the road too? Is the road test with cones only or do you drive on the street and highway? Is the road test conducted by the trainer or someone else watches you? My HR manager said ill be starting defensive driving on Monday and I am nervous because i have only driven a mazda3 and dont have experience. Im not even sure I can back up serpentine style in my mazda3 so i dont know i will do it with the stepvan.

so you will be partnered with one of the trainers at fedex which is basically another courier driver who has been certified to train you and test you. you will be doing everything at the location in the warehouse with cones. After you do your test in the warehouse they will take you on the road similar to like a driver license test just to see if your not a crazy driver. they will be looking for a few things for ex. checking your mirrors, staying at least 2 car spaces away from car in front of you, and making sure you are paying attention to civilians walking. They will show you and explain to you exactly what to do and how to use your mirrors, when to turn your wheels. etc. you can practice with them as many times as you like but once you say your ready that pass will be the one they test you on and they cannot help you. its alot scarier then it seems. my advice to you is just pay attention to what they are telling you ask question and take your time!! it is not a race. i had no experience driving anything bigger then a mini van i did fine.

The hours vary, your start time will pretty much stay consistent but your end time will all depend on how busy it is and how fast you deliver your packages. you should expect to hear back from them within 1-2 weeks. I got an email in a week and a half. Thank you for the question!

You do get paid your OT when you work over 8 hours per day which is time and a half and you also get paid overtime when you come in on your scheduled day off. so if your M-F but you come in on Saturday it will be all OT

@@donla22883 ok so the last question would be "tell me about a time were you were in a stressful situation and how did you handle it?" so basically what the employer is trying to figure out is if you can handle stress and if you can, what's your process to deal with it and keep moving forward. depending on your work experience you can something like...…Ex. "at my previous employer XYZ working in a call center we would deal with high volumes of calls daily it can get very stressful....(and then talk about how you over came it)…even though it gets stressful I remained focused and kept the company's goal at the forefront of my mind" This is just example I would encourage you to put your own experience. @@Noahvroo I’m on now, been here since August. Took me 6 weeks to get in the door after I did the Medical they sent me to. I have a very easy route here, about 20-30 deliveries and 20ish pickups a day… everyone complains here but ground was 1000x harder and worse. Now I deliver mostly envelopes and stuff around 10-15 pounds… if you don’t mind working at night chose the 2nd wave at express… pickup routes like I have are sooo easy compared to doing a 100+ deliveries in the am routes. Also my station pretty short staffed so I can get 10-12+ hours a day if I chose. I can take home some good $ at times

They most likely already ran your background and you will most likely be told to take a drug test after you start. If your not a DOT driver then you wont need a physical

All of your stops will be plotted on a map on the hand held device you will use. as far as turn by turn directions unfortunately it wont do that.

Two companies: FedEx Express (best) or FedEx Ground? Yes, definitely call back. Years ago, when I was there, I recommended someone, he called every week for 4 months until they finally hired him. He turned out to be a very good employee.

This is so misleading. I own several FedEx route businesses and the amount of vacation, benefits provided is dependent on who you work for. There are multiple owners in one terminal and each owner determines pay, benefits, vacation, etc for their business. One owner can pay $250.00 per day and in the same terminal, another owner can pay $175.00 per day. One owner can be Ivan the Horrible and the other owner can be the world’s greatest boss. If you are a driver, you should know this.

That's fedex ground my guy express is actually fedex, ground is contractors that pay per day or stop
