Pros & Cons of FedEx Ground Deliveries

The route I had when I was at FedEx ground was a country route and we had to type the addresses in to an app and load the truck ourselves so I really didn't have to worry about how the loaders loaded the truck because I literally was the loader

@@KelvinK the app my contractor used was road warrior, and last year during peak season they had me on a couple of city routes and in all honesty the city routes were so much better mainly because all I had to do was just load according to sequence number and not type everything in

The loader for my truck on Mondays and Tuesdays is awful but I go on and arrange it how i want anyway. I have an easy residential route with a couple businesses and average anywhere from 130-150 stops a day, sometimes less, sometimes more. I like the job because nobody bothers you and you can go at your own pace. I'm usually done anywhere from 12:30-2:30 depending on how many stops I have that day

As far as cleaning the trucks they have a company that come in just to clean the outside of the trucks might as well do the inside everything from the dashboard to the floor be dirty and if I'm not mistaken one of my co-workers said something about a bonus if you keep your truck clean

What i don't get is how they come in to work so early and yet trucks still dont be right they come in like at 1am drivers come in at 5ish am i think

@@tkelly830 yes at the end of the day when you get back they’ll be people who check and ask if you have any missed deliveries but then you just park and go home

Its good that you put this video out there seems like people are making us the bad guys and its nothing as it seems. Most of the problems with missing packaging is the package handlers fault. Example my package might be on your truck vice versa or it might not of been loaded right.

Do you have a comparison for Amazon and FedEx? I’m offered @ FedEx $18 starting off great local route super easy. Amazon pays $20 but I have to deliver in a different city plus double the work. But it’s flexible 4 days a week which is good for me. What is your advice on this?

I’m planning on making a video about Amazon vs FedEx tomorrow that you can check out but to answer you directly - if you are guaranteed 40hrs, you make $720/week for FedEx and $800/week for Amazon. Based on what you said / I am assuming FedEx is 5 days and Amazon is 4 days?

Yup, that’s the reason I quit Amazon and plus they don’t give a shit about the drivers… finally got a job with FedEx express with starting pay of 22.50 an hour

The only con is the pay they expect drivers to do 150+ stops with packages weighing as much as 150 lbs .. beside that fed ex not to do bad just the pay !!

Question is do you get to drive the same truck everyday? Because a lot of places I’ve experienced I will clean the truck really good and then the next day have a different truck that’s filthy and then somebody else gets my nice clean truck and it’s bullshit…

I know I'm a couple of years late but, i do have a question... What's the hours are for FedEx Ground delivery? And can you take a cooler with you during the warm season or do They provide one?

I could be wrong but I was talking to a FedEx Ground driver and he said that they no longer work on Sundays. Hours will completely depend on specific market you work at and what kind of route you have. I'd say starting time will be more or less a fixed time but the return time would vary. You can take a cooler with you.

You return to the station - park back in the spot you left - take any problem packages to said area and get the hell out of there to go home haha. No checking in with anyone.

Hey Sophia! Each route has xyz stops and or xyz pick ups - as long as you complete your deliveries and pick ups - you can take your break as you see fit - the only thing I will say is with pick ups - there is generally a pick up window meaning you need to be there in that time range - example 2 - 4 meaning get there after 2 and before 4. You don’t want to miss pick ups. Also depending on how you get paid - you may want to skip a break to get done earlier. Regarding the music - it really depends on what truck you drive - some have radio, some don’t, some have Bluetooth capability, some don’t.
