I absolutely loathe superstitions that label certain animals as omens of bad luck or death. Aye-ayes may not be pleasant to the eye as red pandas, but there is no excuse for people to commit genocide to these creatures. I simply do not want aye-ayes to suffer the same fate as the Zanzibar Leopard. If it happened once, it happened too many times. Also, don't let red pandas or maned wolves go extinct either.

I went to chidiyapur forest range a week ago. Last time(5 yrs ago) I saw a group of spotted deers and some Asian elephants and some langur primates but this time I saw no animal.Deforestation is done on a large scale to create a highway. A 6-lane road is created there. This time I didn't see any animal. The numbers of animals especially Apex predators like royal Bengal tiger, sloth bear, Asiatic black bear etc are decreasing due to habitat loss. It is such a shame that we are destroying our own planet.

Maybe it's due to all those illegal refugees encroaching on the forest lands, making mazaars so their religious leaders can grab the land later under specific minority schemes. I am a native of the same state & have seen the degradation myself due to immigration of legal & illegal migrants while the locals suffer.

The issue of threatened and endangered species deserves to be catapulted into public consciousness the way that climate change has been, most probably even more so. When we lose species - and certainly entire habitats - we lose ecosystem services that benefit us humans, such as flood control, pollination, and pandemic prevention.

There are a few primates that could be added to the list. The Sumatra orangutans and the Borneo orangutans. One is closer than the other and I think it's the Sumatra??? Not sure about that. But both are highly endangered. Then there are the wooly monkeys and the golden cheeked Gibbons. A few more primates as well. But none is in as perilous shape than the orangutans. Well I guess primates could be a video on their own. 🤷

...I don't care about the red panda, please... I wish people cared about animals for reasons other than" OMfG looKK HOw fUKCing CUte" Because that's how we wind up spending millions of dollars saving animals like pandas who were doomed already without our intervention instead of saving the actually important animals that people don't find cute. Like, fuck how cute it is, I don't fucking care, red panda goes extinct? Big woop, no one's gonna notice but humans.

Give an example of an important animal please
@MonsieurFeshe Жыл бұрын
@@tryllon4774 ...ur joking right? Whales, big eye tuna, wolves, so so so many species of shark, and bees. Not to mention that even without actually making any animal go extinct, fishing and hunting can cause an ecosystem collapse. Take for example, some idiots bought and released lionfish in Florida, not they have no predators, and they're destroying Florida reefs. Then the animals that can actually eat them, like barracuda and sharks, are turned into game fish and hunted to death in that area. No one went extinct in that scenario, but a whole reef system was destroyed, potentially destroying an entire ocean food web causing potentially hundreds of species to go extinct.
@tryllon4774 Жыл бұрын
@@MonsieurFeshe Species that are essential to a functioning ecosystem are of course important. But you can not ignore the importance of a symbol species. Yes, panda may be a stupid animal but he is a conservation ambassador. China itself is a ignorant and greedy blackhole but if protecting panda means protecting the habitat as a whole, so be it.

Speaking of red pandas. Have you seen the movie turning red? It's about this girl who turns into a red panda. And it's a generational thing for girls. In the movie, And it talks about the Red Panda and where they live. And their fiery red coat. But when red pandas are frightened, they stand up. And some people revere the red panda. And I had three hard plastic red pandas. That looks so realistic. There's not even funny. When I get mad. Sometimes I say. I'm going to panda. That's a metaphor. Like my face turns red. When I get real mad. But Red pandas are very cute. And turning red showed. What red pandas are? I would highly recommend Watching turning red.
