These tips are exactly what I needed to hear before my first tournament. They really help break down the prep process in a way that feels manageable. Thanks for helping my confidence level before going in!

Tip: Check the time and so you know when you have your match and go in like 1-2 rounds before your match is!

I’m going to the USA martial arts Iowa championship in about a month and a half. Thank you for the advice

This advice goes great for open (all-style) martial arts tournaments as well! Only thing i really don do at the tournaments I go to is the weigh-in. Other than that, everything was really transferable!!

Great information, especially points one and three. Years ago when I competed at Nationals, I brought the wrong colored helmet. I had to quickly borrow a helmet from someone. Another rule, was once you get checked-in and Inter into the stand-by area, you can’t go back out until your called for your match. So if you forget something, it’s too late. Another mistake, was not properly hydrating or more specifically, fueling. I was so nervous that I didn’t eat enough food. So after the Kata competition, with only a banana in my bag, i was a a very weak fighter😜 As always , thank you for the informative insight on TKD.

First of all, thank you! These were actually super useful. One small note completely unrelated to the content of the video. The correct way to pronounce taekwondo is more like "tay" instead of "thai". I know it's lame to point out, but having lived in Korea for almost a decade now, it drives me nuts to hear lol. I'm sorry!!
@BlackBeltSamery

Totally! It’s just been so pronounced and known as “Thai” here, so I go off what people recognize :) but you’re 1000% correct. I’ll think on making the change for sure 🩵🥋
