The "non-existent" customer service actually worked really well when our connecting flight Warsaw-Frankfurt partnered with Lufthansa got canceled due to laborer strikes in Germany. Even though we had to wait for about 30 minutes, they quickly got us a new flight and every plane came on time.

It's always the once a year travelers who complain how "bad" things are. Westjet is no better. All airlines have issues. I've never had an issue with AC and fly likley a lot more than you.

⁠@@Notguilty907million miles? That’s pathetic. AC is amazing. Coming from someone that had 3M miles with AC and 9 million in total. and takes a YVR-HKG twice a week. I’ve never had an issue that hasn’t been sorted in half an hour. I’ve also been connected to customer service in under 10min.

You have no idea how mad this makes me as a Canadian I have flown WestJet and Air Canada several times WestJet is incredibly worst with no screens and uncomfortable seats Air Canada has amazingly kind crew good food good customer service in your flight usually only gets delayed by half-an-hour

@@dagoose.Canadian airlines was awful. Having worked for them and flown in them from Yvr-hkg and back, they did no water service for the entire flight and only liquid they served once was tea. Super nasty flight attendants, the worst. Flown Air Canada many times and had water service every hour and great service!

That’s a brutal review based on one flight experience. I love flying Air Canada. They’ve never lost my luggage. Only once in about 60 flights has my flight been delayed. Bashing an airline and promoting another isn’t OK based on limited experience. I’ve also flown WestJet many times, and I’ve never had a problem.

West Jet lost my coworkers luggage on a 1-2 hour flight. That luggage ended up on another continent and bounced to 2 other countries over 3 months and in the end never got it back. Me and another random lady got luggage to westjet's requirements (mine was actually much smaller than required) and still didn't fit in their sizing rack. Total scam. We refused to check ours in as I know their history with losing luggage. Westjet can sponsor yall all they want but it doesn't make them any better 😂😂😂

I waited on the phone for 1 hr for a customer service representative, but when I was finally accommodated I had a very great experience with the rep. I dont know what problems air canada are having these days but im looking forward to my international flight via this airline.

Around midnight on the 23rd of December two years ago, I was on a flight for Christmas vacation. There were weather related issues.. My Air Canada flight took off and saved my entire vacation, meanwhile every WestJet flight out of Pearson was grounded.. I’ll take AC

The people who haven’t lost luggage with AC are lucky. Air Canada has even made headlines in Canadian news for lost luggage during the pandemic. Based on statistics (look it up on the internet) Air Canada’s statistics are 3100 lost luggage while west jet is 600. Fly AC at your own risk

I use to travel once a year from Vancouver to Brazil with Air Canada or United. United is much better. AC lost my luggage several times and their seats are a bit tighter, plus stopping in Montreal once was a disaster. Long lines that don’t move an inch for so long, it was a mess in their airport. I almost lost the flight from Montreal to Vancouver after 2 previous long flights 😢

@@QZQZ144 A lot of people drive. If you like to waste time for a 45min to an hour flight plus 2 hours to check in, clear security and another hour to wait for your bags without including delays, you drive from Calgary to Edmonton faster. If you don't drive you can take the bus. 🙂

Yes I did. Part of my first international trip was taking Greyhound between New York City and Toronto. It takes more time, but it can save you some of the hassle of airports.

Sitting here in Ottawa trying to get to NS via AC. Should be 2 hours in the air. I've been delayed due to weather risks twice and now due to plane technical maintenance issue. Likely going to miss my connection in Toronto. I HATE this carrier, it's always drama and delays with them. Been doing this for almost 30 years now and even now in the summer, it's a sh*t show. Sadly, they are the only game in town for where I need to go. To think I paid 2k for this pain... EDIT _ 5 hours later... and I'm back in my Ottawa apartment for the night. After letting me sit all day in the airport they finally decided to cancel the flight due to unresolved technical issues. What a waste of time. STAY AWAY from AC if you can people.

Our flight got delayed nine hours before we were abt to get on it, our cottage is two hours away, so we had to downgrade to fly home on time.

We were at the check in before the gate for our flight closed at Heathrow. One bag went through into the aircraft but before the rest of the luggage could go in they said that the gate had closed for our flight even though there was another person who checked in at the exact same time as us but they didn’t get sent back. We got put on standby and managed to get on another flight. GUESS WHAT, they said that we couldn’t bring our hand luggage since the aircraft was full. We were doing a connect flight from London - Montreal - Jamaica. We booked a hotel at Montreal for 1 day. The hand luggage had all of our clothes and toothbrushes in it. Air Canada robbed us.
