Hi, adorable Angela! Great to see you again! This is a great intro to your style of quilting and it’s helpful to hear you use stitch in the ditch to travel but freeing to know you don’t worry about hitting every ditch. Thanks for this inspiring session!

You make it look so easy! I am trying to man-handle a King sized quilt under the needle of my sit down long arm and man it wants to fight me! Even with the supreme slider under it - very difficult to move. Any tips? I have tried rolling it up on two sides and having it hang down in my lap but it still gets hung up and doesn't want to move smoothly. My shoulders are aching. Help.

I have been wondering something about picking a quilting pattern. Wedding ring, I have a quilt that the squares are embroidered and has a 4 roses with leafs on each that are to be quilted. Now do you pick and over all pattern in a contrasting color and quilt over all of it even the embroidered and already quilted roses? Sorry if this sounds confusing, I'm new to quilting and what to learn as much as I can so I dont have to hire someone else to do my quilting. Thank you inadvance for any help you can do.

Good Morning! LOVE your style and teaching ways - I’m new at free motion - so what exactly are you running it on - the top layer and batting? Can you also prepare the entire quilt (including back) and do this? I don’t yet know how to bind so I typically have done stitch and flip.....thank you!

Thank you, Angela! Do you have any suggestions for quilting designs for hand quilting? I am making a table runner entirely by hand since I do not have a working sewing machine right now. It contains blocks, rectangles and triangles. I was thinking about trying some dot to dot in the nicks and maybe the triangles, but unsure about the rectangles. I will repost this on the Facebook page with a picture of the tablerunner.

I have a Janome 11000 machine. I know it is high shank sewing machine. I was given this machine so to get to the point I have no idea how to quilt. I cannot seem to get an answer from Janome if you can free motion with this type of sewing machine. But if you do not mind could you recommend to me a ruler foot that will work with the machine? And what is a beginner setting for the width of stitch I should practice on first? I know you have written many books. Which book would you recommend for someone like me who wants to learn to quilt and learn to do free motion? Thank for any of your help.

I love your ideas for quilting... but I find free motion too much and very stressful. I just don’t like it, even after taking a class. I love doing quilting with my walking foot, often using decorative stitches. Do you have any tips or hints for walking foot quilting?

I'm trying to finish my first quilt, All I have left is the backing to prepare before quilting. Do I sew the backing vertical or horizontal? Also, what kind of batting do you use, your quilts never look very thick which I really like.
