Despite loving Glocks, I have struggled for years shooting left and down off target. Everyone said it was my trigger control but regardless of what changes I made, the problem persisted. I saw your video and made your adjustments to my grip. My problem is finally solved. Thank you very much !!!!!

That is the same grip you would use for any grip of a firearm the only difference I hear his rather than pulling the grip back into the palm he recommends what's considered healing and pushing forward with you palm which obviously will keep the firearm from dipping. However I have never had that issue and almost use Glocks exclusively using the more taught method of gripping with the fingers ( not finger tips) and pulling the firearm into the palm however I also teach to lock the wrists which also prevents the dipping. Pushing forward on backstrap just makes it more difficult to use the finger tips but can also cause heeling and high shots try just not squeezing the finger tips of the strong. Here an example without locking wrist extend hand as if holding a firearm and now grip using fingertips and your hand will dip low left, squeeze like you would a hand exerciser squeezing the grip back in to the palm with a locked wrist see the difference.

Glocks shoot left because the trigger reach is WAY TOO LONG. The chart is correct. It’s too little finger on the trigger. Even competition champion glock shooter set the rear sight to the right to counter this. It’s reach NOT grip. A lefty prints right. A decent shooter can overcome this in “slow poke” range shooting. But you MUST rotate the gun in your hand to do such. It’s not a theory. I can prove it every single time.

All of your grip videos are the best on KZbin. Every time I watch one of them something new clicks with me. It’s strange to me that not many other guntubers talk about the forward to back grip dynamic. Even just adopting that one technique made a huge difference in my recoil management. I just want to thank you for putting out this video. I've watched countless of other videos and received all kinds of advice from people over the years on how to shoot my Glock straight. I'm embarrassed to admit this but I've been a gun owner for nearly 5 years now and I still shoot low left sometimes with my Glock (or any handgun, no matter how good the trigger is) Maybe it's because I already have some basic fundamentals on grip but the way you explained it made perfect sense. Went to the range today and my groups definitely tightened up and best of all.. not shooting low left! Thank again and have a Happy New Year!

@johnhalpin1847
@johnhalpin1847 Жыл бұрын
@James Ha squeezing the fingertips with strong hand can force the gun to shoot low left. This is why he emphasis squeezing front of grip rearward into the palm. Most people for whatever reason improper training squeeze the fingertips WRONG TO DO. Think about how you squeeze a hand exerciser with the fingers into the palm. Alsohelps with leverage and recoil control.

I had commented with some skepticism previously but after putting in a few hundred rounds of slow fire while applying as much of this as I could, I did see a large improvement in group size with my G17. Before trying this I got pretty large groups of 9 to 10 inches at 25 yards (ouch), but practicing these techniques I am now down to 4" groups at that range. This also helped to bring my group to the right a bit (still had to move the sight a touch). A key thing is to really go slow and watch the front sight as you fire. I still needed a taller rear sight though, as even with the steadiest trigger pull it was hitting about 3" low at 25 yards, so I switched that out and am not well-centered with my groups. With a more steady grip, I am seeing that a smart / quick trigger pull works best.

I’m fairly new at shooting. I have a Glock 17 gen 3. I was at the range today. After watching a few different videos the last few days and understanding the push pull method, I tried to do what you also recommended today with the push pull method. I felt a little better today about my shots but I was definitely shooting downward. One of the range officers said I’m probably not removing the slack in the trigger. I will practice dry firing at home. I have medium sized hands but I think I grip the gun pretty well. Great concise video and to the point.

Yup. I’ve found that the only time that low primary thumb grip works is on the little Ppk. All of my other guns prefer the high thumb as shown in this video. I’ve been using that particular grip for years and it works great.

Thanks David, I often think similar to the recoil lugs inside a rifle stock where the action and barrel press to the rear. If one side is weak or a gap you're rifle will favor that side with the point of impacts. I flag my right thumb which I guess is accomplishing the same thing and it seals the grip after the support left hand is high and where it should be. I like how you described the front which I call a hinge point. I build my grip during presentation and I never clam shell it together out front. With work I can do this in 1 second and still have a master grip. I also find the direction of the elbow to the rear defines where my right hand contacts the front right corner of the grip. If I foul a draw or don't see my sights I can instantly recall which thing I did wrong, and I adapt to it and still shoot, maybe a little slower. Nice work on your channel, miss seeing you around. I saw Bang Bang recently. Take care. DJ

This was spot on. Not only did it cure low and left it improves the grouping. I was wondering why the Glock didn't shoot like my Sig.

I like to wrap my left index finger round the trigger guard. I shoot idpa and by doing that gives me great front sight on target stability. Also the mass if the left support hand is higher up the gun, giving greater stability

awesome man. Let me know how it goes for you. Really exaggerate pressing through your strong hand gun toward the target - making sure you're getting into the back of that grip tang initially. Through live fire you'll be able to make it make sense.

@@QuasiMotoUSA awesome! Glad to hear it. Feel free to pass this on to buddies who might benefit from it as well. I made it as a resource so I don't have to repeat myself when glock accuracy type comments come up.

Great tips, it was already the way I handle my gun. The only difference was the right thumb next to the slide instead of using the mark in the frame. Say hello to your Brazilian audience.
