ah to have a small yard (garden). Here in America I have 20 acres and mow 2 around my house and have flower beds galore and its a bit tougher to stay on top of. I guess that's why we would just use RoundUp on your gravel and then go watch telly.

Glad this video came up. I had a scarifying incident earlier in the year that left my lawn about 25% grass & 75% top soil (poor maintainance for about 3 years lol). I've been following this project of yours to bring it back. It's now looking amazing and my next job on it is edging. So good timing :^))

If you have a sprinkler system you need to be careful when edging around shrubs! You could easily cut this connection coming from the grass so you need to be aware of where these lines are buried

I've applied my A1 lawn seed this weekend following your series on the front lawn. Sprinkler system is on this morning but hoping the bad weather that's forecast will help. I'm a bit unsure whether I used enough topsoil to sow the seed so may grab another few bags to top-dress. What you reckon?
@GardenLawncareGuy4 жыл бұрын
A light covering of the seed will improve the germination, you dont need to deeply bury them just a light covering to help retain moisture, reduce bird take and improve soil contact. You could also lightly walk or roll the seeds/topsoil down to improve contact

Good tips, thank you. I'm not sure we have these tools in the US but will look for them. I often use inexpensive dollar store serrated bread knives for small area edging. And for cutting through fine roots. You can easily dig deep using them.

Garden Lawncare Guy aha 😄 Don’t know about you but those Bosch type mowers drive me nuts. Push mowers are great but I find those ones far too ‘plasticy’. I’d recommend having a look for a classic one on eBay, like a qualcast or something I picked up a decent one for just £20, plus a sharpener and grease for the chain it only cost me about £35 total for a good as new good quality mower. Oh and I ordered some of the premiership pro seed for my back lawn today, thanks to your recommendation. I was contemplating Kentucky Bluegrass (Smooth stalked meadow grass as it’s known in the UK) but with such long germination times I think I’ll have to wait to play with that for a proper reno some day.

Hi there! Recent subscriber here, loving your vids. Quick question if I may? I’ve taking the existing turf off my lawn and rotivated it. There are is in shade almost all day. Rather then laying new turf down I’m considering seeding it. What turf or seeds would you recommend that do well in shaded areas? Btw, my soil has a fair amount of clay in it 😬 thanks ☺️

@MrWookie214 ай бұрын
@@SnoopyReads That's not precisely what I wrote. I assume HE could achieve the same result for free. Money (being paid for doing something) doesn't make the difference on how skilled you're. Therefore the only word left that is related to money is professional here, not quality neither look? A professional is someone getting paid for some kind of activity then. But is every professional skilled? And who decides what's realised qualitative or not? This seems to be a very empirical & presumptuous allegation. And finally what's a look? Is it judging something only on appearances or aspects and leading to grant superficiality some sort of pompous & futile consideration. Landscaping is just a bubble concept for some kind of new age ideology...

Any tips on how to remove rust stains from lawn fertiliser on paving bricks?
@paulrowley713 жыл бұрын
Nice crisp edges there Matt. You need to abrade back some of that surface rust on your shear blades though. I find wet and dry paper and Wd-40 works well. Then liberally apply a lubricating oil (like 3in1) over the blades to protect them from moisture and rusting. You can also give them a quick sharpen with an oil stone and give the nut a tweak to tighten it. That will keep the shears sharp, smooth and cutting well. 👍🏻
