Nice job Johnny. I'm a 76yo guy who has not had to do yard work in 20 years having lived in a maintenance free neighborhood for 17 years and now after hiring guys in our new neighborhood for 3 years decided to do it myself. When I cut our lawns before the maintenance free neighborhood I only mowed it and that was it. No trimming, no nothing just get it cut and keep going. So now I have a new electric mower, electric stringy thing, electric edger and more and I had to learn how to use these gizmos but I'm glad I did. I notice you whack the little weeds growing between the sidewalk cracks which I never do and I'm not sure why you went back with the weed wacker on the edged area but I'll try it. Anyway thanks for tips and thanks for helping out that lady and her son!

I xeriscaped my front yard several decades ago because of the steep slope and the time and effort it took to maintain for grass nobody walked on. I had a metal edger that kept the grass contained and the edges crisp. When I no longer needed a grassy backyard, I converted that area as well. I had 12,000 ft2 of grass and it is so much easier to maintain now. A little weeding now and then, pruning as needed and watering during severe droughts for some plants to look their best. I don’t know why I watched your video since I even gave away my lawnmower 6-7 years ago but a crisp edge that you provided just really makes the yard look better. The proper tools do help make the work quicker and easier.

Two of the best equipment investments I have made were an edger like that and a pressure washer. Since finding all of you wonderful people who make these lawn care videos I have really started working on my yard. I loved it when she said she was doing it the way her Daddy taught her. I live in a rental and my landlord does the lawn but if he takes too much time, I get out there and do some edging with scissors and mowing with my reel mower, ha. My Papa did not let his grass or the neighbors grass or the grass at the church get too high so I have a little bit of that mindset in me.
