Happy you found the time to give your indoor bike some extra love and now it’s all dialed up and ready to ride indoors during the winter. I’m sure it was extra happy to be outside again in Richmond Park no just spinning inside but I bet it doesn’t miss the outdoor wet rides 😂for sure bike maintenance helps save money when they are looked after along with safer.

Hi again Lou! Having worked in a safety-critical aviation career for nearly 35 years I happily give you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐stars for commenting on how preventive maintenance expenses are typically a tiny fraction of the cost of corrective work, in money, in time, in the "ripple effect" of letting a small item slide only to have it snowball into an expensive catastrophe days, weeks or even months later, not to mention to potential for effects on life through injury or worse. It's something that we don't do enough with out bikes. I had a few weeks off after a hernia operation so took the opportunity to have 2 of my main bikes serviced.

Seems like you got a good bit of use out of that bike, I really love that used, non bling look of it that you only get after years of use. Looks like a proper workhorse.Scuffs and scratches don't matter if it's intact and well maintained, especially if you're comfortable on it.

I still remember the first time the chain came off and scratched the frame. It was like it was cutting into my skin aaarrrghhhhh! Now it's got sooo many battle wounds, but as you say, adds character! And yes to the comfort, all my bikes are fitted to my spec, but there's something about that bike that just feels perfect, must be the familiarity of it after all those miles!

Yes bicycle maintenance, had a few issues so I just make sure I keep a stock of parts. Richmond is lovely might get to do a full lap there one day.

Richmond is fabulous. The park is so beautiful. I think May is a really great time to visit, the Isabella Plantation flowers are incredible that time of year. Hope you're well Kevin, ride safe! 💗💗

Hi Lou,I visit my bike shop twice a year at least to change my tubeless tyre from summer to winter tyres and they a check over my giant bike😊

Yeah, I have a little noise in the general vicinity of my bottom bracket that I need diagnosed - odd since mine is threaded 🤔😏

Great video as always, I’ve just bought some new tools to do a bit of servicing on one of my bikes. With all the KZbin videos on servicing I hope I manage ok.

Good on you. I sometimes wish I could do more servicing and maintenance stuff on my bike, but I also really like visiting Bicycle and think it's safer if I leave it to the experts in my case haha
