Hello, I got a question and I wonder if I could get help from you. At 2:44 in this video, you threw an elbow strike at the dummy's chest. I learned a similar move in Kungfu, and the coach warned us not to use this move on anyone. The reason is the goal move is to break the bottom part of Sternum to cause the pain, and also the original goal is to let the fractured Sternum pierces the organ behind it, which is lethal. I have never used this skill out of the warning, yet still I question this skill to be able to break lower Sternum or is even lethal. I'd rather believe the skill is simply design to impact lower liver and stomach. Yet what is your opinion about the skill? Thanks!

Nick, with respect, I don't know about this. In real life, the bigger guys are moving too. A lot of the "bigger guys" are way, way over weight and as soon as they block whatever your dishin out, they grab you, pinn you down and everything ends at that point.
@glennrobinson7193

If I had a KZbin channel I would NOT demonstrate moves on a lifeless Bob. I would get the biggest, meanest looking, biker and would ask him to be resistant with every move I show. I would also find someone who is smaller but very fit and strong and ask him to not cooperate too. All to ensure that what I show is truly tried, tested & proven and is not just theory or looks good & impressive. Other than that, I think this teaching video is very learnable and highly invaluable information.

Hi Nick one very important concern is that with those moves is you can accidently seriously hurt someone that may be a good guy who just had one too many beers. You have to be good at determining who is just a drunk frat guy and whom is a dangerous person. By dangerous I mean like Russian Mafia or Italian Mafia or Mexican Cartel, You wouldn't hold back on these guys, you have to put them down immediately , that is my experience anyway. Steve (39-0) Flemmi
@zorkan111
@zorkan111 7 жыл бұрын
There's no such thing as a good guy who had one too many beers. People who are idiots when they drink are also idiots when they're sober. Alcohol doesn't make them idiots all of the sudden, it just brings up their hidden qualities.
@steveflemmi651

Good point Zorkan but using excessive force brings a lot of problems even if you are in the right. when I was in county lock up last year I had a argument with a full tear drop South Sider, I knocked him out 3 left hooks and got wrapped up an extra 30 even though he was the aggressor. I was 90 days into training then and I could have put him in the morgue but I was able to restrain myself, i wasn't looking for a man 3 charge. I heard he ended up in the hospital with a broken jaw. Steve 39-0 Flemmi

Steve Flemmi What the hell are you talking about Russian or Mexican Mafia? If someone is acting a fool and looking for a fight he is showing you how to end it. A good guy when sober but trying to kick your ass and seriously hurt you what would you do? Let him seriously hurt you instead?

Steve Flemmi what are you talking about. Actual mafia thugs are always armed. They will shoot you no questions asked. It doesn't matter if you're also packing. They will always outnumber you and outgun you. Word of advice, don't frequent actual dodgy places. If they look mob type, leave.

What kind of training gym would you go to for this type of training?
@phealy02
@phealy02 4 ай бұрын
'Reality' based stuff. Hard to give you an example as it is unlikely they'd be part of a big organization (like TKD, Karate etc.). Look for a club where it emphasizes 'self defence' against street attacks etc. Preferably the head trainer is an ex-bouncer / military (rather than a 'sensei' who looks like he'd fall over in a strong wind). Make sure they look after newbies though, no point getting more injured training than you would in a fight! Next best would be Krav Maga. Then I'd say Thai Boxing / MMA / jiu-jitsu... yes they are very popular and sport-ish, but that physical competing is invaluable in real fights. They are also more well-rounded than Krav. To avoid: old style stuff with no physical emphasis, pretty katas etc (Karate / TKD / Kung Fu). An expert in these can fight, but not efficiently.
