I know the argument is a bit old by now, but to all the people saying he is the attacker in this situation, think for moment.. Someone trying to square up, he's angry, he's yelling, his body language clearly indicates a pissed off, ready to fight kind of mood. Now go watch a couple of "one hit knockout" videos, and tell me the one thing that's always related between those videos. One guy always swings first with a sucker punch, whether its the aggressor or not. It doesn't matter if it's on the street, If you feel threatened, if you feel like there is going to be an altercation or especially a fight, by all means, finish the fight before it starts. Your own safety is top priority. Once someone is trying to instigate a fight, it's no longer a question of defusing. Of course you can certainly try, but when it gets the that point, it becomes a game of who swings first.
@nikoskabbadias9 жыл бұрын
+Gamma1227 It is clear. Once they have entered striking range showing aggression, they have chosen their fate. The only thing I would do just to be legally covered, is warn them to stay away before they enter my striking range, displaying defensive body language.
@Gamma12279 жыл бұрын
Fevos Man Couldn't have said it better. Exactly what everybody should do. If someone is going to come at me while knowing I don't want to fight, seeing that my body language displays a submissive disposition, I won't give it a second thought. The first thing they're going to notice is how fast I went from a passive "hands up and cower" position to a hammer fist at the nose.
@martinferoli74806 жыл бұрын
Gamma1227, Best Comment on this video. I think the scenario Nick was trying to illustrate is one where "The Aggressor" is right up in your face, as you mentioned and making threats. "I'm going to" (fill in your favorite threat here) If you are extremely talented you can wait and counter. I wouldn't wait. Especially if I was picking up take out food. It might get cold, lol.

Several of them, in fact. It is a culture of violence with an obscene stratification of wealth at its roots. Just because you've been lucky, means nothing. I was lucky, too. I survived, having been shot only once. Instead of relying on luck in the future, I left. Now I can walk the streets any time of the day or night without even having to think about who might be behind me. My children play on their own in parks without fears. I've never even seen a teenager who looks dangerous. They are all polite and nice.

I live on an Indian Reservation with powerful Indians. Some of them are so big and strong that it would be like trying to use martial arts on a silverback gorilla. They would put somebody like that through the wall through the framing of the building. Nobody messes with them at all and they can't find trouble so they like to take me to bars because I'm a butthole magnet I'm little. And then pretty soon somebody's loud talking to me or they're playing some kind of stare eyeball game are there bumping into me or leaning on me are there actually squaring up with me loud talking to me taking my seat when I use the bathroom next thing you know these people are 11 ft in the air. No knife is going to work no gun is going to work. They wear hats and they pay with cash. They park somewhere else were they ride with me and I'm parked somewhere else. They don't want to start trouble with just anybody they're trying to get real buttholes and they use me to attract them because I'm little and nice. They have had stab wounds they have had their skulls lacerated but they don't really care they don't even show it. They love this shitt. One thing I can say from hanging around indigenous peoples of North America is that when they drink alcohol if they get quiet for 15 or 20 minutes and they did not start off quiet necessarily I will get up very slowly and leave.

I do it for fun and exercise. Besides, people get into trouble here all the time. Take it from me a majority of my street fights were in japan and I've been in fights since I was 5 but I agree with you about Japan's safety. There's no yakuza where I live just the occasional idiot. The media depicts Japan as a safe haven when in reality there's lots of idiots here but I luckily I haven't been in a fight in over 2 years. I live at a children's welfare institute and there were a few fights right in my own home. My experience in japan was an awful one thanks to my abusive father but it's gotten better. And if you reply to my comment please refrain from using foul language I mean no disrespect just I don't handle it well. About the people here, they are very kind and I can rest at ease knowing I'm safe but again, I practice my cat kenpo for fun and exercise, the self defense is a bonus. Sorry about the long comment though.

Well said...your first response is to retreat. Someone is always watching and it makes you look good. But when a person will not allow you to...you commit yourself with total violence of action. Unremitting and totally focused. Any fight can immediately turn life or death...thus once it turns physical...your goal is to completely incapacitate your opponent...and cheating is always allowed. Fair fights are for small children and school teachers. My first target is the trachea...never give me the opportunity...once I feel threatened...all bets are off. I love the one shot stop. When it comes to that...I have exhausted all my options to avoid conflict, now their life is in danger.

love fighting with my elbows... good strong blocks that really hurt and elbows have won me more fights than I can remember. straight up elbow is devastating... it is my favourite attack and it is good for defense too... I often used to leave my stomach open for attack and then drop the elbow down as they go to punch - smashes their hand in as if they hit the top of your head with a bare knuckle. Knocked my father out in a fight using the elbow straight up - he went to punch in my stomach - grabbed his other hand and used it to block the incoming punch, stepped in with an elbow straight up into the face - sent him flying across the room and knocked him out. His face was a proper mess. Never fought with my father again after that. You do need to protect your arm pit though against a counter attack that can dislocate your shoulder if you are fighting someone who knows what they are doing.

You can also throw a knee to the groin. Sorry, but in a street fight there are no rules and there are no refs. Use whatever you can to win and if that takes kneeing someone in the groin and then knocking them out, so be it.
@FlankerDeiniol11 жыл бұрын
Definitely! Krav Maga: half the counters begin with a well placed strike to the groin.
@whiskeydrinker2411 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but a fight is a fight. And pulling out a gun is nowhere near the same ballpark as throwing a knee to the groin. You kick someone's ass and they turn you, you get in a bit of trouble. You pull a gun out and shoot someone your life as you know it ends. Might wanna think about that smart one.
@whiskeydrinker2411 жыл бұрын
If someone wants to attack me with no weapon then it's just gonna be a fight and I will do what I must to win, unless I am on duty and then they are probably going to get a face full of OC or a shot from my asp in the knee. But if someone wants to pull a weapon, you will get shot, that's all there is to it.
@Onfire4Christ77711 жыл бұрын
whiskeydrinker24 Actually depending on the state a person lives in....If a person feels that their life or someone else is at risk they are allowed BY LAW to use lethal force to either injure them severely, or deadly whatever the case might be....So that was a rather generalized statement to say that your life is over if you pull a gun because it wouldn't be if the use of such force was justified. Do yourself a favor,and actually know what your talking about before making idiotic comments just because someone mentions pulling a firearm to defend themselves. Especially if they are in states where such force to protect their lives is allowed by law.
@whiskeydrinker2411 жыл бұрын
Yeah, most states allow laws like that. I was not talking about getting your face completely smashed in to the point of brain damage or choking someone out until brain damage begins to occur. Yeah, if you feel your life is in immediate danger then by all means use your firearm to protect your life. What I was talking about is just a regular fight that people part ways afterwards. I simply stated a kick to the groin can end the fight and someone said well if that is going to be allowed then I will just pull a gun. Try convincing a court that your life was in danger and you used lethal force because someone tried to kick you in the nuts. Good luck with that one. I know you were trying to sound smart and educate me with your comment, but try looking at the context next time buddy.

Dude if you're attacking first YOU are the attacker.
@MrRafabro10 жыл бұрын
I know, but what he is doing is hitting a person while talking to them. That just makes you the aggressor. A preemptive strike is when someone is pushing you, getting on your space and you just attack them after you try to calm them down just by talking, not while talking sucker punch someone.
@MrRafabro10 жыл бұрын
Well if he makes it clear that he wants to hurt you, you have right to defend yourself, but if you can just avoid the situation by talking and getting him out of your space, thats what you should do, because if other people are watching you need to make it clear that you don't want to fight
@TKeeper9410 жыл бұрын
MrRafabro normal I'd agree with you but after my last altercation my perception has changed. There had been a slight scuffle at a party I'd attended and this drunk guy got knocked to the ground. He looked to be in his early 60s so concerned he may be injured I asked if he was okay and extended a hand to help him to his feet. His buddy ran shouting "who the fuck are you?" before I had a chance to respond (literally never got a word out)and explain I didn't want to fight and despite how clear my intentions to help the old dude were, he got into my space and pushed me. Staggering back from the push I felt a punch land behind my ear, one of his buddies saw him push me and decided he'd take a few swings as well. Then as he attacked his other friend decided to join in. So then I've got 3 guys attacking me, I put my hands up and did my best to avoid being grabbed or punched but 3 on 1 is not easy for anyone, especially when it's out of the blue and you've had a few drinks and as you'd expect they got quite a few shots in before people raced in to split it up. Had I not let the first guy get amped up and get into my space it could have been 2 on 1 and perhaps the first sucker punch wouldn't have landed had I not been staggering from being pushed. I know you can't just hit a guy for being in your personal space, but if they're being aggressive, getting pumped up, challenging you and then they come into your personal space then their mind is made up and their intentions are clear. I find the laws regarding self defense quite tedious as actions are faster than reactions and often trying to defuse the situation by talking or waiting for them to do something gives them the advantage you just refused yourself and ends up with the douchebag getting in the first and possibly last shot. Depending on how the situation plays out, the consequences for you could range from a black eye and some chipped teeth, to a broken jaw/arm/leg/spine or some unexpected funeral fees for your family to pay.

Well here is a good list I keep. 1. Head butt.. either by itself or grabbing them. 2. Hammer fist. Fake it by rubbing your chin. 3. Knuckle attack to throat. 4. Double palm strike to face/nose/chin. 5. Knee. Best to grab them for stability. Knee nuts, diaphragm, outside thigh nerves... 6. Chop to throat. 7. Eye jabs. 8. Middle finger flick to eyeballs. 9. Index finger knuckle to throat. 10. Overhead backfist to nose. 11. Thumb jab to eye. 12. Slap to ear. 13. Shin rap with shod foot. 14. Foot stomp. 15. Elbow to jaw/ribs 16. Sidekick/roundhouse inside knees. I'm sure there are more!

This is my first fight story, please read the whole thing, It is one hundred percent true, except the moral of the story.... XD I'm only 13, but this week a couple of football players my age tried cornering me and beating me up. They didn't have any idea that I was a kickboxer for 4 years and that my Dad taught me Taekwondo and Judo as soon as I learned to walk. Anyways, I live in a wealthy, clean neighborhood, so I never saw it coming. I was taking my daily run while in a park, four of them came out from behind the snack bar and tried to corner me against a line of trees. I tried to talk out of it, walk away, because I didn't want people around me to be hurt. They kept at it, and when one finally swung at me, I ducked and used his own momentum to push his face into a full grown oak. (Judo, momentum push) He fell, clutching his crooked nose, while the other three came at me. I kicked one guy in the back of the knee (Kickboxing standard fall strategy), and he fell. While he knelt on the ground and tried to get back up, I grabbed another guy by the shirt and pulled him towards me. I used a Judo twist to flip him backwards over me and then he fell on the broken nose kid. The last one tried to kick me in the face, but his leg didn't go high enough and I grabbed his leg, making him fall, and when he tried to get back up, I Tornado kicked him in the jaw. He started crying, and then I ran away. They had no idea who I was and tried picking on me just because I was small. But after that day, nobody messed with me again. Moral of the story: Purple camels have purple humps. BUT IN ALL SERIOUSNESS THIS IS A TRUE STORY

Syed Uddin Sometimes, it's just a matter of choice, would rather be the butt'er of the butt'ee. And it hurts a lot more in the face than it does the top of your head into their soft nose.
@SirAlex-jb5dl9 жыл бұрын
+tetsuken-ryu No, I'm not talking about that, I'm saying that it wouldn't be taught to you if it didn't do anything. Smash with the cranium ( hardest part of the skull) into the nose, or the temple(softest part of the brain) If it hurts, it won't hurt a lot. And as you do it, the pain will begin to lessen. Also, I have had a reality check. I've done it before. I have first hand experience and not that " I saw it on TV so it must be true" shit. I'm not saying it's good as a punch or a kick or elbow, but it won't hurt. Normally in a fight I don't do it. Others do. It's tried and true. Don't fight it, dipshit.

top 5 devastating cheap shots... you always say 'im talking to the person then pow'...cheap shot
@CheeseBae10 жыл бұрын
It's not a cheap shot. If someone gets in your face it's aggressive posturing and you're in immediate harm. They've closed the gap so that they're in striking distance. You have the right to defend yourself. Also, there might also be multiple guys getting ready to jump you.
@kaiziel10 жыл бұрын
Justin H understandable if there is multiple guys trying to jump you, but in having a 'street fight 1v1' should at least give them a push back to give them a chance to throw them up before giving them a 1 hit wonder out of mid conversation. cant walk around saying i beat this guy up with ease when you knowingly ko'd him during negotiations. cant feel proud for those.. its like challenging someone to a game on xbox then smashing his controller before it starts. but yeah there will always be people who make videos of massive king hits from behind or when not expected.

+Davi Souza Easier said than done against a resisting opponent. He can use his hands to jam a groin shot, he can block with his legs. I'd say blast away at whatever is open - thighs, ribs, solar plexus, bladder, etc. - with an eye toward landing a devastating strike to the crown jewels once they open up.
@mrdoolio8 жыл бұрын
+Davi Souza While testicles hurt like hell, most people in an adrenaline-driven situation can ignore the pain for some time, often enough time to retaliate and possibly turn the tide. Also, the pain is somewhat delayed, you aren't actually going dysfunctional from receiving a kick to the nuts. At least not in a situation like that. In a school fight or regulated match, yes, a slight graze will make you exercise your "moral right to stoppage", which you will certainly use. But in a street fight, you are probably more likely to attack even more viciously than you did, at least for some time. Same goes for eye gauge, for example (of course, unless both of your eyes are popped, in which case the fight is pretty much over:) ). A knee to the ribs or plexus are instantly disabling if executed decently. You might kick his air out, which pretty much prevents him from reacting in some constructive fashion, you might "score" a liver shot, which renders him basically paralyzed with pain even if he's a seasoned fighter and so on and so forth. While in the long run, I'd certainly choose to be kneed in the ribs or plexus rather than in the balls, ribs are actually a better target for instant disabling. With a similar mindset, you might want to break his nose, as untrained/most people simply can't deal with it, as they WILL automatically cry and get severely confused and disoriented - even though if we talk about consequences, a broken nose isn't a big deal.
@rebelwithoutapplause56298 жыл бұрын
A headbutt can get you 6 months in prison, as can an elbow etc.. Why have you allowed the assailant into your personal space..? I agree with Nicks hammer punch, I box, unless you know how to use your hands correctly, you run serious risk of hurting or breaking them.. Bad.. Busted hands equals missed training.. In my opinion, left arm pointing forward, (you then guage distance) but look defensive, should loudly "back off, I don't want to fight", so everyone hears it.. At the same time you have your right hand palm forward next to your head, you still looking defensive however you have now loaded a punch and your feet are in the right position.. If the idiot backs off, A men.. if he goes for you, use the loaded punch.. I box at an amateur level, the last thing I do is fight, but, if I'm forced to, most fights end pretty quickly.. I prefer to walk away..
@countrysamurai8 жыл бұрын

Remember the idea is "self defense". Where you are not out looking for a fight. Note the attacker/aggressor always has the edge. All the stupid punks and criminals deserve what they are asking for. What is "fair" is pretty much anything since you are "defending" your self.
