@@terriaki1273yeah something like that doesn't happen due to garden variety incompetence. One cop isn't gonna risk going to prison known as the cop that stopped multiple or even just one murder from being solved because they got lazy or didn't feel like looking through all the paperwork. I refuse to believe anyone that incompetent or stupid would be able to leave the house without supervision or be trusted with sharp objects, let alone work in law enforcement. I'd love to know how many of those case files had already convicted someone. People have sat in prison for decades for something they didn't do before finally being released. And that's just one angle. God knows what some of those old men in bass boats did back then as cops. Things they'll probably take to their grave.

As an ex DA, let me give you a little bit of the mindset of prosecuting a case. If we can’t prove the case to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt, it’s best not to take the case before a jury because you only have one shot at it. The jury finds the guy not guilty, that’s it unless you can try him on a federal crime. We might believe that the guy is guilty as hell, but if we can’t prove it, better to wait until more evidence comes in

you have probably seen the channels of " bad and corrupt police ." well, it turns out corruption exists in all elements of society. so, we all are in deep sh*t . a great police officer is like a great man in any role. one thing i can say is obvious to all police officers in a dept. - bad police officers make the job harder for all good police officers. anyway, I used to hate police officers - that is obviously caused by contact with bad police officers. On the other hand a great sheriff deputy resolved two problems i had with zero violence and got - in my view - my legitimate rights restored . he was a truly great man. god bless you.

The other car was thrown into a light post and the woman that was hit ended up being decapitated. The guy whom struck her was clearly drunk. Husband said he could smell the alcohol as he approached the car. Turns out drunk guy was the son of a judge. Walked free with zero charges.

That really makes my blood boil... so that man kidnapped some Lil girl n no one knows who she is nothing that sucks!

That first one really reminds me of Terry Rasmussen, he would change his name constantly and had multiple aliases. He had to have ties to Mississippi as his biological daughter’s maternal family is from there. At one point he showed up in California with who he claimed was his daughter who is actually the daughter of one of his victims, this could be similar to Jane Doe.

In that last story, they were not covering up for violent criminals. 1. The murder may have been committed by a cop. OR 2. They were destroying evidence of their own incompetence. Prior to DNA evidence cops often sent innocent people to prison. Testing those cases against DNA evidence would bring down the entire department.

Last story if true: Heck no! Those cold case files with DNA evidence weren't "accidentally destroyed" imo - those were files they got paid for keeping them as cold cases nobody ever looked into and/or cases LE themselves would've been involved - that's why I think, some LEO turned private eye might be very talented due to all the experience they've, but they're also equally as untrustworthy as some LE themselves; at least to me this explanation is WAY more likely. Especially bc each file had to be handpicked for the "to be destroyed" pile ... and I think, the PI also knows this really well, but decided to give us the "typical explanation for average gullible citizens" here in this story to not cause distrust.
