Greetings from 🇬🇧! I’ve no words to describe how grateful I am for your help in identifying the problem with my family! End of 2012 starts my story knowing my ex (she’s a covert malignant narcissist not professionaly certified yet ) I have all the reasons to "cry" for myself for the ways she's been abusing me. I have a bigger pain than that because I have a little daughter who is only ten years old. I'm also having trouble with the social services department. (taking side, fake accusations, false promises, intimidating me, being selfish and trying to make me sign a draft that would make my life and my daughters life worse, abusing their power ) Tomorrow I'm going to meet with them in person (unfortunately I'm a foreigner with no good English) Any suggestions from you or anyone else that might have experienced this kind of problem ? Thanks

No joke, strong Ego Centronic, significant dominance of unconscious Conflicts.. Agressivity in the form of paranoid tendencies towards others!! All narcissists have social disfunction and do not have the ability to communicate with healthy individuals. My ex was completely exploitive!

From this and other resources I have come to believe the new spectrum based diagnosis of disorders are beneficial. Shared behavior between these disorders definitely makes it hard to tease out a diagnosis. Personally i feel its all different manifestations of similar psychotic disorders, with individuals traumas and genetic personality factors like resilency and other types of bullshittery affecting degree of expression. You know people say were all crazy, and thats probably true. Its just a problem when your type of crazy happens to be predatory, parasitic and a manipulative strategy to survive.

Very interesting Prof Vaknin, what would be an example of the "projection of aggression in the form of paranoid tendencies" ? Does it mean that the mentally ill person would assume the other to be aggressive and therefore be aggressive towards the other as a result of the paranoia?
@samvaknin4 ай бұрын
Exactly. But “assume” doesn’t begin to get it: s/he will know FOR SURE.

I met covert/borderline malignant narcissist. For the 6-9 months he was perfect, cute and supportive, humble. Grateful that he has good job and great girl... after many big ups and downs with divorce included. After that time he met 20 years younger flying monkey. Became abiusive to pets/me and at work, very malignant and even bragged about how he oppressed others at work. But he also collapsed a lot, cried and had many brakedowns. Also his ex wife was hospitalized for borderline, I heard she was and is fine without him. Prof. Vaknin is it possible that he "sold" it to her?

Just mentioning this because I think your audience might appreciate this professor Vaknin, It’s interesting to see also how narcissism is shown in media but more apparent than before ,now we are shown on the big screen the behind the scenes look at how narcissists experience reality not just shown how they behave. I was surprised to see in the latest Mad max film “furiosa” how when the character of Dementus portrayed by Chris Hemsworth is being held captive in the open dessert by furiosa how he experiences life and telling her how she is the same to which she cries and it lines up perfectly with the descriptions of a narcissist-the negative affect, feeling of chronic emptiness, in the search for constant excitement to get away from it all etc. I’d encourage all to see that film and see what you pick up from it.
@deathuponusalll4 ай бұрын
@@kenshirogenjuro873 awesome, I think you might enjoy it also how the two villains in the film are different types of narcissists. The one that ends up winning is the malignant narcissist in the film named Immortan Joe, the two clash when Dementus goes to his home and appeals to emotion to Joes citizenry then finds out immortan joe has a religious cultish following that gives him power moreso than Dementus random amalgam of gangs.

Hello Dr Vaknin! Have you seen the video of Roger Walters being interviewed by Piers Morgan. He talks to his mommy (to himself) during the interview. I was wondering if it was an example of the Principle of Duel Mothership ?
@notsev75664 ай бұрын
So the borderline one described is a covert borderline? Or is it just malignant narcissism with something that looks almost borderline as it is?
