Mid range is only a problem analytically for players that make less than 50% of them. Currently its a weak spot in defenses because they are guarding the 3 and paint. It's an unguardable area because you can drive or stop and pull up before they can get off the ground. The most unstoppable players have an elite midrange and solid post and triple threat footwork. Being able to score with a guy on you, knowing how to find a window and finish on controlled fadeaways, etc can be efficient if you practice them. Most players don't practice them so for them it IS a bad shot. A must have if you want to be versatile.

As long as the ball leaves your hand before your pivot foot touches the ground, then yea, not a travel
@zeyy842 жыл бұрын
People usually call it a travel because they think the pivot foot cannot leave the ground. That’s not a travel. It’s only a travel when the pivot foot leaves the ground, then lands back on the ground with the ball still in your hand

Why would anyone call the 3rd move a travel? People online rightfully call travel when a move like that results in a double step back/lateral which is a travel and is being uncalled with increasing frequency. We've given offensive players too much leeway with the rules which by one extension is unfair to players of previous generations who weren't allowed this leeway and 2, in a softer game it's another strike against perimeter defenders.
