This video is very good for players who are new and have no true knowledge of basketball moves however this shouldn't be titled as "UNGUARDABLE" moves. 1) The first move is not unguardable at all (shot fake): You keep showing DeAndre Jordan's slow ass get faked. If you have a defender that has even a little bit of speed and basketball IQ then they would not fall for it. This move may work once (twice if you are lucky) during a game if and only if you have a shot and you have been hitting them that game. In all the games I've played against big guys no one has fallen for this move more than twice in one game. 2) The second move is a drop step. A very basic and effective move. One of the first things you learn when you are a big man in middle/high school. This is a good move however you are teaching it wrong. You should post up first, get the ball with out setting a pivot, then depending on what side the defender is on you drop your foot around them creating space. Embiid is a very elite player and in the clip you are showing he is being guarded by a much smaller defender. He was able to play him face to face and attack the way he did because of this. 3) Again this is a shot fake that no one will fall for more than once or twice. The shot fakes are very effective when used properly and can lead to an easy bucket or two but nothing more. Any decent defender will be able to not fall for it again. I recently have been trouble playing against people who are bigger and faster than me. The only way I am able to play in the post against these types of people is by out smarting them via basketball moves such as these and tbh in my experience as a big man playing 60% of the time in the paint the moves you showed aren't very effective or are very basic.

Hey, coach. I just have a couple problems. I play jv and varsity and I'm a sophomore. The thing is I can't score a lot of points in game but I can easily make every single shot at practice. I also cant shoot under pressure or while contested etc. I am going to many camps this summer, and I hope they help. I've tried 1v1s, coming off a fake screen, mikans, and all of those drills but they don't help me when I play in the actual game. Do you have any tips for me? I'm 6'2 and a half and i play power forward. I also can't shoot from beyond the three point line. Is it because I'm a big man? Not practicing enough? Thanks for anything u can do.
@barackafrobama89976 жыл бұрын
You should be confident on those shots, it doesn't really matter if you're not scoring much, as long as you are a great value to the team. If you can't shoot 3s, why not perimeter shots? It is easier, but if you prefer shooting from outside go work on those lower and upper body strength and your shooting form too if that is the problem.

Kaden Miller i doubt you will see this but im a big man as well 5'8 164 lbs (im in 8th grade) and my favorite and effective move is dirks one leg fade and for contested shots i like carmelos post step back and since your a big i wouldnt really worry about outside the arc

You aren’t supposed to post up directly on the block, you’re supposed to be above it right below the first hash mark. If you don’t believe me watch Hakeem, Embiid, Robinson, Ewing, Shaq etc.

Anyone else experience where you practice moves, then you get in a game and do something else, and you're thinking I should have did what I practice or that's not how I practiced it. I don't play as much as I used to, but muscle memory, repetition, and good habits activate when your brain cramps or stops.

Just a normal fan who loves playing ball. This is my bread and butter. Soo under used moves. Many people like playing away from the basket now. Unless ur a very good shooter, scoring close to the basket gets u buckets. Cool vid bro.
