i need help mann,i’m struggling with my shot recently i removed the thumbflick from my shot and honestly i felt like i need help getting used to it. i thought i was but every time i step outside the ft line or far midrange i just can’t seem to connect,i’m trying to be a consistent knockdown 3 point shooter before varsity tryouts but shi like this just fucks me up,honestly i’m looking for as much advice as i can get.
@Nintasma3 жыл бұрын
@@gloryboyjosh maybe you should keep the thumbflick then ? Or maybe you need to push more with your legs than with your arms, transferring the energy from the ground to your shot in one motion than catapulting the ball, you will probably have more strength shooting like that
@gloryboyjosh3 жыл бұрын
@@Nintasma the thumbflick is gone man,i think i jus need to get more reps up close because i feel like i’m moving to fast and i’m tryna shoot 3’s to early
@Nintasma3 жыл бұрын
@@gloryboyjosh yeah, you should be confortable close to the basket first and then move back, don't focus on the 3pts line, just try to be confortable with your shoot and extend your range progressively

@@Nintasma then shooting on double rim don’t make it any better,that’s why i’m try to get a high arc when shooting and when i do shoot with a good arc it hits front rim,i need to get stronger as well,u have any tips to build wrist and arm strength man

i was like that all my life but some time ago i started to regularly shoot from the corner angle, but very close to the basket (form shooting) and after few shooting sessions i started to gradually move back untill i reached 3point range, now its the easiest 3 point shot in my arsenal even tho i preffered wings and top of the key as well (i was more efficient at deep range wing shots than at a corner shot) now, even tho im a much more confident corner shooter, i still start my shooting sessions by shooting close to the basket, and after i make a number of shots in a row that satisfies me, i move back up 2 steps and restart the process untill im behind the 3 point line. its a great way to learn and train shooting, not only from corner, but overall

I'm 14, 5'5 and I'm a great ballhandler I can get to all my spots wich are mostly anywhere in the midrange area also in the paint because I can finsih very well. but I draw comparisons to chris paul somtimes and I am a great rhythm shooter. With all that said I can't catch and shoot from anywhere I need a rhythm through getting to my spots with the ball in my hands. Do you think you could make a video about how to get better at shooting as a midrange specialist?

I think he means depth perception wise. When shooting from the key for example or win got is very easy as there is a visual guide e.g the backboard but at the corner it’s just you and the rim @@ByAnyMeansBasketball

I actually don’t like many of these drills in my opinion for high school and maybe even college because you are learning to take bad shots - contested and off bad passes. Reserve for pros only! I think it’s more beneficial to practice knowing when you are open and when to drive or pass (most of these shots should be drives or passes)

Shut up with the "this one skill can make any player valuable" that's complete bullshit. Basketball is so mainstream and competitive that you need the entire package in order to be useful to any team. If you can shoot 3's all day, but you can't drive or pass well, you're trash. If you can get to the corner and knock down those 3s but you can't defend you're trash. You know it's bullshit, they know it's bullshit, stop giving lazy people false hope. If you wanna be a GOOD or GREAT player, who coaches actually want on their team, you need THE WHOLE PACKAGE. This isn't the 90s
