3 Waterfalls at Wells Gray Park in our Camper Van!

We visit Wells Gray Provincial Park, BC in our Roadtrek Zion campervan on the last leg of our 2 week Canadian Rockies journey. We see 3 of the 39(!) waterfalls in this park - Spahats, Dawson and Helmcken - and stay at great campsites at the Pyramid and Clearwater Lake campgrounds. We’re also thrilled to bump into a couple of our subscribers, Greg and Tina, and enjoy scenic gorge and river walks.

Awe! It was so very nice to meet you two as well. We were surprised and had a small giggle to see the picture on your channel. You two are down to earth, relaxed and very kind to stop and chat with us awhile. You may be a small channel but your content is exactly what we and so many others are looking for. We both agree that Wells Gray should be on everyone's bucket list and we didn't give it the time it deserved. Which falls ended up being your favorite out of the ones you have seen? Great Video. We went to Well's Gray last year, in August. The massive amount of smoke that covered the province last year dampened the fun as it was really thick in that area. Helmcken Falls access was closed unfortunately too. We stayed in the Golf Course Campground but checked out the three spots you mentioned. We just assumed they would be full but the smoke must have kept campers away and next time would skip the golf course camping as there is no privacy. Great to see the video and the images of the park with the blue skies. More reason to go back again soon. We felt bad for all the tourists and their rented motorhomes missing the parks grandness. All that said we enjoyed the tranquility and it is a magical place. We opted to go whitewater rafting out of Clearwater through the park; a great way to see the wildlife and be on the river! My partner and I hope to see you out there too. It's funny as this year we've just missed you I think two times by only a weekend apart. Safe travels!

Recently discovered your channel and have been enjoying your videos, especially this one. We will be at Wells Gray in May and driving the same route to Vancouver. My ears perked up when you mentioned vegetarian samosas at 18:09. Did you pick those up along the route? Do tell. I can't resist a good samosa! Thanks! Looking forward to ore videos.

Thank you and we are sure you will enjoy your trip! In the last several years we have frequently stopped at the Britton Creek rest stop on the Coquihalla highway (stop is just a few km from the summit) for the vegetarian samosas from the food truck there. Given all the flood damage on the highway last fall we are not sure whether the rest stop or food truck will be open, but hoping that is the case. Likely our favorite, but several of the fruit stands in the Okanagan also offer. Safe travels! 🚐

Good afternoon Ive been looking into the Zion but Im now hearing the whole warranty and bankruptcy issue that happened beginning of the year. Did they fix everything and you are able to get serviced without a problem? Sorry to bring this up just dont want to get stuck with something that will cause that sort of trouble. Thanks for the question. As far as we are aware RT is back in operation and moving forward. We have heard of examples where they are now sending out payments to folks who had repairs during the interim period when in receivership, so it looks promising. Suspect it may take a few more months to likely catch up on everything. New vehicles now have a 2 year warranty, much less than before but still close to industry average we suspect. We have tried to contact them twice by email a few weeks ago but no response to our questions yet. Other than a reimbursement for our costs related to the under-hood generator our Zion has been working well. Our one concern is that there doesn’t appear to be a local dealership near us anymore, so we are hoping that the dealer we purchased from can still do most of the repair work. Likely not an issue.

We don’t believe so, but you can find some great winter shots and videos...lots of ice!
