If you plug in an adapter and a wireless or wired mouse into the adapter you should be able to control your phone through the mouse therefore being able to press the power off button if you have a Samsung this adapter is included in the Box if not you can buy some online

The first 2 methods shown in this video for fixing a Samsung with a non-responsive touch screen. . .depict using the touch screen to power down the phone. I know it can be powered down by simply removing the battery, but the video doesn't mention that. This seems like such a fundamental misunderstanding that I'm reluctant to even consider the third suggested method that involves installing apps on my desktop computer.

Er Hello, in a video about fixing an inoperative touchscreen, why are you using the touchscreen button? I did most of this stuff with Start and Volume up/down buttons but stopped short of the factory wipe of all data. I then used an old trick for getting a few minutes use from old dead hard-drives, I zipped the phone into a sandwich bag and put it in the freezer overnight. This brought it back to life for a few minutes while I salvaged pictures and videos etc. Then I figured the phone was a brick anyway so I tried taking it to bits. I started by scoring around the edge of the screen trying to work out how to gently pry it open, and to my amazement it came back to life for a few seconds. So I ran the tip of the knife around the screen again (digging out a lot of grime). This time it came back to life for longer. I tried a 3rd time and it came fully back to functionality and has been working fine ever since. Amazing, unexplainable but true.

Hi there. If it is caused by software issues, it can fix by force start. If it didn't work for you, the only way is to change to a new screen.

To anyone watching this and say "But I can't restart because the touch doesn't work". My phone was doing the same thing. I lightly dropped it flat on the back side a few times. This is caused by a loose connection for the screen. The light drops ( 4 or 5 inches) shake the cable and let it connect again.

Hi Dean Larkins. Touch screen not working is caused by many reasons such as software issues, hardware issues, system issues. If it is caused by software or system issues, you can try these 3 tips to fix it. But if it is caused by hardware issue, you need to go to repair shop to check if your screen is broken and consider changing to a new one.
