One of the things I did was go back to school. All of that academic workload kept my mind off of the majority of the heartache. By the time I graduated, I was completely over it and increased my intellect and opportunities in the process. For me conquering something gave me a purpose beyond the pain/loss. Whatever you do, sitting at home depressed and stagnant isn't the pathway to recovery.

I know well how emotions work but it does not help at all. If you get through the huge injustice and abuse then its not easy to forget it.

Thanks Rachael. I apply your techniques and it helps. Part of the big problem however, is that there is such an injustice being served to the betrayed. My wife cheats and I have to pay. She could have come to me and talked about stuff. Instead, she planned and plotted for months getting all her stuff in order so that when she surprised me with the affair on Christmas Eve of 2023, she had everything prepared for a divorce. I always treated her with love, respect, and kindness, and I am at a loss of why this happened. She just said that she was unhappy. In the meantime, I am now struggling financially as I am in a no-fault divorce state and she is trying to get half of everything including the home that I owned for 31 years. My hardship at this point is just the sheer injustice of it all.

I'm so sorry to hear about the pain and injustice you're experiencing. It's incredibly difficult when betrayal occurs, especially when you've given so much love and respect to your spouse. Feeling confused and hurt by actions that seem completely out of your control is natural. The financial and emotional toll can feel overwhelming, but please remember that this is not a reflection of your worth or the love you gave. Healing from this type of betrayal takes time, and it's important to be gentle with yourself during this period. If you're looking for more guidance and strategies to move forward through this challenging time, I’d love to invite you to my free masterclass. It's designed to help you regain your emotional strength, navigate the financial stress, and heal from the deep pain of betrayal. I greatly appreciate your videos, they are very insightful and wise, and they are a new perspective for me. Like many of us you are speaking to I'm a good guy, wasn't abusive, or cheated, tried to be a good husband, and now trying to make sense of why she up and left me and our family to find happiness somewhere else. Can't wait to watch more of your videos and take a break from the hundreds of hours of Narc videos I've seen at 3-4AM every night for 5 Months.

Drinking *less*? Oh, you mean alcohol.
@RachaelSloanRelationshipCoach4 күн бұрын
I understand your perspective! Alcohol can sometimes feel like a temporary relief during tough times, but overindulging can often make recovery harder in the long run. It's important to focus on healthier coping strategies that can help you heal and move forward with a clearer mind and more balanced emotions. In my experience as a divorce coach, addressing emotional pain through healthier outlets-such as exercise, talking to a therapist, or journaling-can lead to more lasting healing. Reducing alcohol consumption is just one way to help create space for clarity and growth during the recovery process. If you're looking for more guidance on how to navigate this challenging time and start making positive changes, I invite you to join my free masterclass: resources.rachaelsloancoaching.com/masterclass-register. It’s designed to offer actionable steps to help you heal, recover, and rebuild your life after divorce. Take care and keep moving forward-your future is brighter than you think! 💙
