Always thought outside center was just another step on the way to the winger but now this position sounds like fun

Beautiful Video. Excellent explanation of the position and it's role. I'm learning about rugby and your explanation is easy to understand. I'm also thinking about trying to play rugby and understanding the game and player's roles is a big help to start in a position that suits me better. Hope the rest of your videos are as good as this one. i'll check them up! Good Job and Thank you

Just to second this, I'd be really interested to hear when and where to join the attacking line and balancing the risk with leaving no cover if the ball is turned over. I know to come in outside 13 for set pieces but particularly in open play, I've noticed prem fullbacks running lines through the forwards.

What about the outside centre as a side-stepping attacker? Or is this very old-fashioned? It seems like a lots of 13s are like loose forwards these days, especially in their size, some seem sometimes like to be ball carriers and simply crash through the opposition like flankers rather than have flair and skill :)

Could you do one for inside centres? Be great to compare. I ask because most international teams seem to have their biggest centre at 12, skinniest at 13, which contradicts this video. Notable exception is England who love to put Tuilagi and now Lawrence at 13.

Can anyone help with a layman’s explanation of what inside shoulder and outside shoulder is ? I’m trying to explain it to youngsters but I’ve started overthinking it myself and now getting confused lol. Cheers

I may be wrong but inside shoulder where the ball is coming from . If it’s coming from the right I target my defenders left shoulder

From my experience 13 is probably the hardest position among the backs, outside number 10...
