3 WAYS to Check & Fix Air conditioner unit not blowing

Dude, I've been fixing my own A/C here in Brandon since I bought my home in 2002 and saved thousands by doing it myself. I did however take an A/C repair course back in 2003 but never took the state certification test to get my universal license. Nice job getting back up and running, especially now in this heat.

Excellent! I did the same thing 8 years ago. My blower motor was squealing. My best advice is to take LOTS of pictures. I included pics of the screws that I took out as well as the compartment in every angle. Good thing too. I needed to remember where everything went along the way. Lol!

Thank you. My patience only works in 40f-90f heat, my garage was about 90f, the max limit.

What exactly were you draining when you said the AC line that was PVC. It was water/condensate but why was it piped from underground? With a vent stack essentially. In Michigan we don't have setups like that so I'm wondering if it's a Florida thing?

Drain pan from inside. if drain line is clogged system will shutdown to prevent leaks inside the house.

@@TampaTec Interesting piping arrangement. I just didn't understand why it goes underground and then comes up like a vent at the condenser.

Up here at the jersey shore we have horizontal units that have a drain pan underneath the condenser. I was thinking it must be a Florida thing too.

Did you do an autopsy on the motor. Might be a good follow up video topic. I would be concerned about why the motor quit. Do you lube the blower motor bearings regularly. My blower motor is 33 years old and still going strong. Lube every or every other year. As a matter of fact I just this last late winter got a new condenser and evaporator coil to replace the original that was also 33 years old. l also vacuumed out any dust build up in the windings to keep it running as cool as possible. Nice video. Anyone can do this stuff thanx to KZbinrs like you showing them how. Thanx.

Wow, I haven't seen any motors these days that have a way to lubricate the bearings. They always say permanent. Lol, like that's actually the case. I miss being able to lube motors. Showing my age here.

Make sure the blower wheel is centered within the housing or you could be loosing lots of cfms blowing across the coils

Thanks for the tip. I'm saving up for a new ac unit because this one is about 20 years old, I got a quote for $6,500 14 seer 4 ton unit with full system parts and labor.

Make sure you get a reliable brand that's made in the U.S. with a warranty that covers parts & labor ! I made the mistake of going with a York system . Didn't know they left the States to go to Canada to avoid lawsuits . The unit had a condenser leak after 30 days . The part was warranted but not the labor ! Then the compressor went due to low oil operating from the condenser leak .... having the installer disappeare didn't help either !

Ive got a question, I watched hours of your videos yesterday trying to fix my older panasonic plasma. Am I understanding this correctly; When using the resistance setting on my meter, I hold one lead to ground on the chassis and the other I test the positive connections on the different boards (p, ss, a, buffer) and if I get an open loop reading that means that the board is shorted? If I get a reading even if 00.0 that means there is a loop correct? Thanks man, Im no electrician but I enjoy learning new skills.

I was told to use bleach. Just a small amount watered down . Thanks for using something else that I didn't know you could use, like the vinegar.👍

How did you know the blower motor part number before you took it apart?

I took it apart and then put everything back together for the video. So basically I did the repair twice just for the video.

I had to replace my cap twice the fist one lasted 2 years then i think it contact broke inside 5 years on the new one.
