I wonder how many of us here had some free time. No friends nearby. No one calls/texts you and you don't call/text anyone. Yes, you feel lonely and you're finally convinced that no one (except yourself) understands you. You feel too small in this vast universe and the thought of death (all's temporary) often visits your mind. Ones who relate get the drill. Bold move perhaps, trying to kick your depression with a video on KZbin. Wouldn't be fruitful for those with chronic depression. Better seek a therapist. It really helps and there's nothing to be ashamed about in seeking help. Not everyone is equally sensitive.

I don't mean by being narcissist, but to help people you need vital-self energy to use for yourself then spread this positive energy that you obtained to everyone.

right now I'm sitting alone and I've been in a new school for so long with no-one to talk to, I miss my all my friends, and I feel isolated. I used to sleep a lot but now all I do is just sit at home on youtube or something "trying to fill the hole" but when my computer dies I have nothing. I used to draw all the time and I loved creating new things, but now I haven't actually drawn in almost a year (about 10-11 months besides some doodles). In the beginning of the school year when people asked me what I like to do I said "I like to draw" even though I really haven't in forever, but that's all I could think of to say. I could transfer schools but its been a whole year and I haven't seen anyone in a while and I don't even know if my old friends would like/want me there, but if I stay where I am now, I will just be mindlessly waiting for school to end, day in and day out while saying hi to a few acquaintances but know one to really talk to at lunch. in my current school Ive gotten to know everybody and everyones nice, but again there's no one for me to really talk to. I won't be sad if I stay, but I won't be happy either, ill just be in a school knowing that people like me but would rather not talk to me at lunch. Although if I transferred to see my old friends, I would be going into the unknown, not knowing if I would be alone for the rest of the year with absolutely no-one to talk to or not. I don't know if I should remain here or not because its really uncertain for me if I leave but if I stay I will be bored out of my mind with no really friend for 3 more years. For instance you have eyesight, ability of hearing, smelling touching. And compare with the people who don't have. Write down anything you have and write why you feel gratitude for this thing. The most important thing is feeling it from deep inside of heart. You will feel fulness, I swear!

I just discovered your channel and I have to say, as a psychiatrist who works with a LOT of young people and an awful lot of folks with chronic emptiness, you really nailed it. I LOVE this. I also adore your approach and your animation. I'm going to recommend all my patients struggling with emptiness watch this lovely video. Thank you!

You forgot the most important thing of all actually there are 2 editions to that first and most important, it is *human* *connection* *human* *bond* creating relationships with people who trust you and you can trust them people who will make that hall inside you fade away more quickly then any of the other things you mentioned, and dont get me wrong I'm not saying they are not important, if i didn't had my drawing and my guitar and my passion for learning and developing my self, and of-course meditating for 20min every night before sleep i wouldn't make it i just know that this world of our species rely on our humanity, witch we are often forget.. the 2nd most important thing is *exploring* go out there, enjoy the world and what it has to offer travel meat new cultures and new people from different places around the glob if its activity that involve people it is even better go volunteer go help strangers that is the 2 most powerful tools there is to this empty feeling and i know people wont read that long massage so it wont get any attention but if even one person will read this and be inspired by my words i've done my thing here :) thank you for your vid´s, they have profound impact on so many people

I actually consider exploring and doing things to help people as part of "creating". All activities can be catalogued as consuming or creating, and those are definitely creating. Of course, human relationships are important, but they become rather uninteresting and unsatisfying when you are not creating and discovering. We need to flourish all the time!

Problem is, people aren’t permanent. The reason why I’m watching this video is because someone I love dearly has been taken away from me. We aren’t allowed to communicate in any form. She filled the hole, and I trusted her with everything, but she still left anyway. She’s the reason why the hole is larger than it was before. But I agree with you about creativity!

Great points, but I think the best way to shrink that hole is to have goals/purposes which you are passionate about, and work towards those in processes which you love.

Thank you so much for this video, I’ve been depressed for about a full week, and I’ve never felt this down about life ever before, and these tips honestly opened my eyes. I’ve been thinking “oh life is meaning less and horrible, and this feeling will stay forever”, but these tips opened my eyes to the fact that I was causing most of my own problems, and I intend to start fixing them. In short, thanks for the help.

I'm trying to fill my hole with food and alcohol. I used to live a very healthy life and I know I can go back to it. It's hard to let go of these bad habits especially when you feel so lonely and lost, but I did it once so I can do it again! Everyone who reads this: No matter where you are right now in your life, you have the power and control over everything that happens. You're always one decision away from a totally different life. You are loved! 💚

If one does a lot of evolving work, after 50 years of age, they may notice as I have, the "hole" becomes whole. The feeling of emptiness is a learned feeling. Think about it... If I can make you feel empty and have something to fill it, you may buy it. Disagree about we are born this way, but do love your videos and respect the amount of work you put into them.

I have school tomorrow... a few hours ago I broke down because I realized how LONELY I actually am. The people I consider friends are fake and I feel like there's no one out there that understands me and likes me for who I am. Out of the seven billion people on this planet it is truly hard to believe that I'm the only one with this hole. Reading these comments that are relating to the hole makes me feel less lonely. I wish we could all be friends. Goodnight.

I wish I can go back in year 2015 and re do all the bad decisions that I've made which eventually led me to this dark, lonely place in the universe where I think only I can see. It's scary seeing everyone else leave you behind and you're stuck in a big unknown rock and it's really true that you start to fill yourself with alcohol, smoking, junk foods and all other craps to temporarily fill that void. It's this time when you are trying to live your past and forget the present. I don't know if I am making sense but this is what I feel.

Victor Heisenberg This doesn't make me angry. It's nice to hear about people whose lives this video has affected and that others can find peace at some level. It's only that I've tried so much over the past decade and none of this is new to me. I cling onto hope but some days are harder than others. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of the next temporal fix. That's what this video feels like: a series of temporal fixes. I have accepted that my life carries no meaning and that I must stay dynamic in order to confront the next big challenge, but there might come a day when I can't fight anymore. So again, this doesn't make me angry but I can understand how it could to others.

i havent felt genuinely happy for a long time. its time to start changing my life around. i've been procrastinating since.. forever i guess? i don't do my homework. my hobbies that i used to love doing don't excite me anymore. everyday i wake up i feel nothing. not even sadness. just emptiness, numbness, exhausted with everything. i just feel like leaving. its time for me to start picking up on things that interest me. its time to workout and get my dream body. its time to finally get out of my shell and socialise. its time i let myself known to the world.

I searched up a video to make myself not feel so lonely and came across this one. At the end medicating and facing the hole was highly recommended. So right after that’s what I did. I sat down right on the floor and closed my eyes and started thinking. I thought about how the hole represented my loneliness and my mind being the voice of reason. There was a long back and forth. With every logical and reasonable response to the holes concerns made me feel secure and assured with who I am. It’s going to be a battle to face my demons but I know I’m stronger than I think. Tonight I can sleep soundly.

“The greatest and most important problems of life are all in a certain sense insoluble…. They can never be solved, but only outgrown…. This ‘outgrowing’, as I formerly called it, on further experience was seen to consist in a new level of consciousness. Some higher or wider interest arose on the person’s horizon, and through this widening of view, the insoluble problem lost its urgency. It was not solved logically in its own terms, but faded out when confronted with a new and stronger life-tendency.” C.G. Jung

You know that hole inside you? You know how you're always trying to fill it? It's called desire. It's the human drive to continue building and improving. The reason we try to fill it is because we recognize it as wasted potential, so we keep trying to find ways to improve ourselves to seal it. It's not a bad thing, that hole provides the energy, he encouragement for people to keep moving forward. I do believe if that hole ever sealed, people would lie down and never do anything.
