Great tips George. That mulch dye is something I would like to try. Every few years when the mulch beds just become too much / high ; I end up removing most of the mulch before putting new mulch and this year is time for that again , which is a pain of a job. In terms of new methods to take the lawn to the next level for me has been adding more carbon and soil amendments in general. Ironically from Mirimichi Green ; I often use CarbonPro-G since it is quicker and easier to get at my local SiteOne. But i use Essential-G from them as well. Shout out to Ron who pointed me to those. I noticed a huge difference since using them in terms of dealing with summer stresses up here in NJ and this year I was by far the earliest to green up out of winter dormancy on my street.

Cutting straight lines and switching directions each time as well as different patterns each time I mow (doubles, single-double-single, etc.) You got to keep 'em guessing what pattern will come next! Also making a clean-up loop on the outside edge for the last pass. You are absolutely right to edge your yard where it meets the concrete line. I do it every time I mow, it looks so much sharper and it helps cut down how often I weedeat in those areas. I appreciate your content and good luck with your yard adventures!

Enjoyed the video! So true about edging, and a fixed blade like that makes a huge difference vs trying to do it with a string trimmer.

haha yes sir, i remember being naive enough to think i could do it w a string trimmer 😂

Hey George. One thing I do is try to stay ahead of the weeds and dogs. where I Iive, nothing that is approved seems to works on weeds. So I weed by hand. I’ve been doing it this way for a few years now and it seems to be working as my lawn is mostly weed free. I’m taking your advice and going to start trying to level my lawn. Love your videos. Thankyou for making them

Awesome! the best defense against weeds is a thick healthy lawn, sounds like your doing a great job, keep it up!

Same here. I invested in the fiskars weed puller last year & love it! Saves me from the constant bending down or squatting. Cheers.

@@PrincessCutLawnCare Not sir. I add lots of nutrients all year round. For example, we eat a lot of bananas. I cut the peels up into small pieces and throw into the garden. I do the same with cucumber peels, carrot peels and other veggies. I try not to waste these valuable nutrients! Appreciate all your videos George!

Hey George, I like to slope the edges by removing soil or old mulch with a flat shovel. It keeps the mulch from mounding. Clean lines and a smooth transition make it stand out. Thanks for the posts and positivity

George, I put a second blade on my edger. It makes that edge POP. I also cut my fescue high at 3 3/4", so it has that shag carpet full look, which also helps choke out the weeds.

To make my lawn pop I like to keep a couple different heights of cut. Especially since I live on a corner lot it’s fun to have a longer lush front yard and a backyard that is just below 3/4”

Hey George, new here! One thing I do to stand out besides the black mulch and a good clean edge, is to make sure to cut regularly with my Toro Super Recycler mower as I rarely fertilize so I want to return as much nutrients back to the soil. Cutting more often than not with a good sharp blade seems to keep everything in check.

Sir. I just moved into a neighborhood where grass is an Olympic sport. I got my respect by concentrating on the fundamentals. Watering 1 inch of water a week. Cutting 2 to 3 times a week. And fertilizering when I'm supposed to. I watch your videos and they have helped me stay ahead of the curb. And I need all the help that I can get. I live in the neighborhood in Detroit where all the motown people lived. And people from all over are always taking pictures.

I've never used much dye before that sounds awesome. I did a landscape makeover last year with black mulch and it looked awesome! Gonna need to darken it up soon. The crisp edges and lawn stripes make the difference on my street compared to the rest.

Nice topic! I recently purchased a new home and my first season i took things slow. I wanted to see what obstacles the new area had. Right off the bat i decided to have the downspouts ran in ground with pvc for a cleaner look. Once this was done i focused on the lawn. Fall reno season 2. Dethatch, aerate and seeding. Spring 2022 there's a huge difference. I decided to go with black beauty ultra for a dark green color. This alone makes our lawn stand out on the block. Another thing we have done this spring were live edges similar to yours. Man it's so crisp! Bkack mulch in the beds with Colorado river rock separating the edges from Mulch. It really makes it pop!
