For me, last fall, the mistakes I made were underestimating how much grass seed the birds in my area could gobble up, and trying to throw more seed down in my remaining bare spots when the soil temps were already dropping too low, so I wasted some seed. Spring overseed helped, but I gotta deal with some poa annua now. I'm in the overseed or use prodiamine conundrum lol. I'm relatively happy with the thickness so I'm gonna try the pre-emergent.

Hi monika! Don’t worry about the weeds for now. Just focus on the new baby grass. The crabgrass will be dead any day now since it’s cooling off. If you see any of the leafy weeds flowing seed heads then try to pick them by hand. Appreciate you sharing your project!

I fertilize regularly & in the later fall i cut grass short, dethatch it then seed in 1st week of Nov. When snow comes its weight pushes dormant seed to contact level...Then in spring it melts providing water to begin germination, once the ground is no longer soft i fertilize it with Scotts Max green.

@@PrincessCutLawnCare I don't have the exact name on me, it's from United Seed, I can look later when I'm back home. @Johnny53kgb-nsa3 жыл бұрын
@@PrincessCutLawnCare At Seedsuperstore their SS1000 includes four varieties, including avenger 2, and 4'th millennium, which both sell separate at United Seed's. At Seedsuperstore 25 lbs of SS1000 is $ 116.99, at United Seed's either of the tall fescue varieties listed above cost 10 lbs $35, and 25 lbs $81.25. ( now that does not include shipping). Seedsuperstore shady tall fescue blend is SS1002, it includes a few varieties, including Titanium 2 LS and Valkyrie LS. Seedsuperstore price is 25 lbs for $116.99, at United Seed's each are 10 lbs $35, and 25 lbs $81.25. ( not including shipping). So, I need some of the sunny variety, and the shady variety. Found your channel accidently but loved it and binging on it. I bought a new home 4 months back and the backyard and front lawn were just mulched, no weed fabric under it. Now its full of overgrown weeds. I will cut and then put round up to clear up the weeds. Since I have mulch, if I want to throw in weed and seed from scotts, should I remove the mulch?
@PrincessCutLawnCare3 жыл бұрын
Great to hear! Congrats on the new home 🎉 I’m order to stop the weeds in the mulch beds you will have to apply a preemmergent which will prevent them from growing. A popular one is called preen, you can get it at Walmart. Apply it every spring and fall and it will take care of most of the weeds. For the few that still come just spot spray them with round up and you be all good
