A better way of mixing plaster of Paris with water is to fill a container with water, then slowly 'sift' the plaster in until it forms a mound in the center above the water of dry plaster. Allow it to sit until the mound absorbs enough water to be fully wet. This should take a couple of minutes, if you added enough plaster. Then mix using a popsicle stick or something similar (must be disposable- it'll be ruined) for 1 and a half to two minutes until all of the lumps are gone. This method will ensure that the plaster is able to cure to a hard finish and will work for this or whatever other project you're using it for. Also, while working with uncured plaster, use gloves as it is an irritant!

The plaster of Paris has the best cracking sound, next is the wax. The nail polish is way to quiet sounding for the amount of coats you would have to do so I will definitely never be using that method. Thanks for the how to!

My nail polish dries fast I let it sit for 5 minutes once I'm done putting the first coat of nail polish I keep on doing it with the coats then at the end 11 or 10 minutes
