We purchased the Crown limited and love it. It drives nice and gets great gas mileage 44 MPG. It’s easy to enter and exit the cabin.

I have the Toyota Crown Limited and I love it! My husband and I have traveled from Florida to NH with it and enjoyed the whole ride. Very comfortable to travel in, so much more comfortable than the 2007 Camry hybrid that I had for 15 years. I am getting 39.7 miles to the gallon with the Crown. This will be my car for ever.

Well, despite my initial comments about a few shortcomings of this new design, I became a proud owner of a Limited a few days ago. So far I have driven it for two days and love it. I love the seat height, having just turned 60 and all my previous and current vehicles being SUVs, my concern for a sedan has been primarily the seating height. But now that I have driven the Crown for a few days, I love the ease of getting in and out and the overall design is more appealing. However the lack of heads up display, the prybar to hold the hood open and the lack of a blind spot monitor still needs to be addressed by the design team for the future.

Wow I have driven vehicles 200,000 to 300,000 miles and almost never opened the hood. 🤔 Some people just need to complain about something’s that are rarely ever used. The average new car buyer is not even going to change their own oil.

Why do people say "nobody" wants sedans. Maybe fewer people want them but certainly there is a market for them. We have enough crossovers. Too many, I'd say. It's refreshing to see something different as an alternative. That said, the back headroom looks unacceptable. Seems on the expensive side but I'm sure it rides and drives quite well as most recent Toyotas drive and ride quite well.

I love the Crown, is an amazing sedan and on this day, the only car that have make me consider changing my Mercedes CL63 2008. But here is my main problem with the car... The wheel / tire side. I think Toyota should have make an option to instead of the 19 (xle / limited) or 21 (platinum), they should have offer something like a 16-18 wheel adjusting the wheel side profile to keep in line with the 19 / 21. That would have allowed for tires with much wider side profiles, that will better handle the overal condition of many roads in the United States. As as owner of car with 20 inch wheel, I appreciate the old days where 18 inches were in vogue.

I personally like the car. It has nice lines, is economical as a hybrid, and as you say a well designed complete package. Everything just looks and fits in a cohesive manner. I would love to see Lexus take this and add some real luxury to it. In my opinion it would be a better fit there than in the Toyota lineup. Just the ease of entry and exit woud surely be big hit with the typical Lexus owner. Too bad you didn't test the "bargain basement" version and compare it to this beast.

I just swapped out my 2020 Camry for XLE crown. The idea of owning an SUV or crossover kind of disgusting me, so I was only looking at full-size sedans this year. There are a few things that sold me on the crown. First off, there are hybrids and then there are Toyota hybrids. Going from Pennsylvania to California and back, my Camry was averaging 44 miles per gallon on the highway. The crown can do that in City traffic. With the expansion of EV infrastructure stalling out, and current generation Battery lifespan issues, that seems like a pretty good deal to me. That seat height is the entire reason the Chrysler PT Cruiser was so popular among drivers over 50. Not having to lower yourself down into, or climb up into a sitting position save a lot of wear and tear on the joints. Physical buttons. Toyota is one of the few automakers that has rejected the cost-cutting trend of full touch-screen controls. Looking down at your center console because you can't make climate adjustments by feel is far more dangerous than most people realize. It might just be me, but the styling on this car is absolutely gorgeous. I liked it the trunk space is physically separated from the cabin. The fact that less than 10,000 have been sold so far in the US is a nice bonus. There's something special about driving a rare car

Well here is my comments because I just purchased a Platinum Crown. We are an older couple that liked a little more luxury than the gas mileage. 1. It is Metalic Grey color and I did not like the design of biotone red / Black / Black matt or with gold instead of red. It just looks too busy and color separation looks weird. I like the black matte over semi metalic grey gloss. 2. Hybrid Max will be in the 2024 GRAND HIGHLANDER in its platinum trim model. 3. Camry, Avalon, Crown, Lexus 500h, Acura Tlx ... LEXUS???? YES, YES!! The Crown is more compared to me to the 500h but without the leather and additional $15k Price tag. The Crown looks semi cheap with the plastic in different places but adheres to everything else of an 500h. Obviously, this car is bigger than the camry, ioniq 5 and 6. Cant say it is bigger to the Grand Highlander 2024 model which uses the hybrid max too. 4. I am neither here nor there for gas. I was more directed to the adaptive suspension which the camry or other Crown trims do not have. 5. I love the TSS 3.O. The safety features are great. 6. The lights and 21 inch wheels are cool with the sunroof. 7. I bought my car with tax complete out the lot for $57k. $1500 below sticker. Overall, it is everything I can expect from a Lexus 500h and Genesis GV80 but without the price tag. 😊

We're coming from a Lexus and prefer the Crown. The added ride height makes it easier for us to get in and out of, and the styling of the Crown looks better to us than the look of the ES. No argument that the Lexus is more luxurious, but we test drove the Crown and were happy with the comfort level. For some buyers, this will be the preferred car.

So far based on the reviews I love the limited trim of the Crown but but for a $50000 car that is supposed to be Toyota's flagship I wish they had a tenderd to 3 simple items. 1. is the HUD, 2. Lack of a blind spot camera which is available even on a CRV, 3. The trunk lid should be on a strut rather than a pribar that you have to manually put in place to keep it open. I hope Toyota will look into the season fix it for the next model year. It is the middle of 2023 and unfortunately I have yet to see a single Crown on the road.

I live near a major city and have seen 2. They were smaller than I expected. Agree on the changes you recommend.
@drumstyx Жыл бұрын
I assume you mean hood for the strut vs proprod, not the trunk? I 100% agree, and that'll be one of the things I mod in the future. If not, I'll just never open the hood for anyone, because that's fkn embarrassing to have a 60k+ total car that has a proprod. The trunk lid is ALSO a bit of a downer...it feels a bit light and flimsy (though I'm sure it's not) and even though the lift arms are shrouded in decent-ish plastic, compared to my previous Mercedes C300, nothing about it feels substantial. You pop the trunk, it barely moves, and you have to lift it yourself....it's hardly better than my friend's old 2000 Chevy Cavalier!! Okay, maybe I'm being a little hard on it, but they could have at LEAST added a soft-open, so it had some chunky-feeling resistance as you lifted it. Maybe I'm just bitter because god DAMN it should have been a liftback. If you're gonna lose the rear headroom to a fastback design, at least make it useful! Still love the bloody thing though...

Had an Infinity Q70L which I loved, but ran on Premium and only got 12 to 15 mpg, depending on how many left lane blockers I have to get around in a jif. Another story I guess. Husband got me this ( Crown Limited) with the Big 21" wheels and the biggest complaint I have is I don't have a sunglasses pocket somewhere, so really folks, do I have a problem, not really. On the plus side, only needs standard gas, last tank fillup I scored 53.4 mpg. And no plugging in like a Tesla. How can anyone argue with that. Great ride. I get to watch the engine recharge on the downhill. Really is great when getting around the city as it barely uses gas, so if all you have is highway you might not get the full benefit of that recharging. Love the look and all the compliments. I love the ride and I love the mileage.

The crown in general is just an abomination 😂. It looks ugly. It’s not RWD like it should be. The fastest crown’s performance is no better than a Camry v6. And the crown has less space than a Camry. On top of that it doesn’t scream upscale. And it lacks features that the Avalon and even the Camry offer. Thr Avalon offered 4 way lumbar, power tilt telescope wheel, sequential turn signals and real wood trim. and the pano roof is poorly executed. The Camry w the pano roof is so much better done and it opens And don’t think it has more ground clearance. It only has 0.1in more than a Camry Also if you noticed the crown has narrow tires. 225 width. A Camry offers 235 wide tires 😂

This is a downgrade from the Avalon and does not deserve the Crown name. 30mpg is pretty crappy for a sedan. Once again, no fog lights where it is actually needed for many since the LED isn't the greatest during fog and rain. Sun roof that doesn't open is a waste since that is what people want. The trunk is a joke when it is a wagon so make it a open top to give it more room. 21 inch wheel with Z tires for what? Infotainment screen is definitely an upgrade FOR Toyota, but still behind. Finally, the price tag and the lack of luxury features is going to make the sales lower than the Avalon.
@PzA37 Жыл бұрын
Well, considering the crown has the best gas mileage at 31-42 mpg when compared to other full size sedans that range anywhere from 19-32 (especially those with AWD), it seems that every sedan on the market has crappy gas mileage based on your assessment. Also, almost no similarly priced (or even more expensive) sedans have fog lights.

@verlaryder Жыл бұрын
Complete flop! No one will buy it because it doesn't have the qualities that made the earlier (pre-2013) generations of Avalons popular; i.e. affordable price, understated elegant styling, normal sized wheels and tires that delivered a bump smothering ride, quiet engine, well padded seats, small & narrow center console that didn't rob passenger space, uncomplicated drivetrain that didn't cost a fortune to maintain, etc.

I have had 2 Avalon’s and loved them both. We wanted a fresh start on numbers and considered the crown. I drove the limited first. It was comfortable. Not as much room as the Avalon, but I liked it. I pulled off from the dealership loving it until the engine kicked in. It sounded like a Camry engine. So it was a no for me. I tried the Platinum just like this one. It’s beautiful in person, but the red/black wasn’t for me. But the drive, ect was great!! So…. I am “someone” who’s buying this car. To each his own.
