It's the whole United States with rising homelessness. I was shocked to see homeless all over Missouri a couple years ago. Same is happening in Britain and other European countries too. The West is not patriotic any more for it's running on greed, narcissism, and evil. If I were you, I'd just stay over there, but come back to the states sometimes, maybe once a year to shop and enjoy things than can only be enjoyed in the states. As for food and entertainment, you don't need to be in the states to get all that. Every country has it's pros and cons. I love Germany, but could not live and work there so I don't due to the beaurocracy and snobbiness. I don't love America and find it to be tricky to live and work there too due to the egotistical horrible narcissistic culture, but live there out of being a citizen. No, I wouldn't want work in Thailand or Cambodia for the pay is too low. I did work an English teaching job in South Korea for 4 years, but didn't so much enjoy the culture of face saving and passive aggression. Everywhere has qualities I love and hate. I hate pollution, but love cities. The entire world is a messed up one.

People do pick up trash constantly in Phnom Penh city. Diamond island too. Although the management on Diamond island do seem a bit lackluster ( Diamond island is a privately managed estate) Don't take away someone's job by doing their job.

@@urbansurvivorguy yes, I know what your intention is. I was just taking the piss. Every now and then you'll see a bunch of school kids out and about doing a clean up as you suggested. Trash and litter control is hard. Old habits die hard. Especially in rural areas or where rural folk live when in the cities. Traditionally there was no persistent litter, as there was no plastic. Food was wrapped in leaves or not at all and the refuse was quickly consumed by the environment. Litter just hangs around in the modern era and looks like poo. I challenge you to find an aluminium can just thrown away though..... Trash control has got a lot better in a short time. It's a management problem.

It would take one hell of a culture shift to get people to stop littering and pick up their trash and not burn the trash like they do in the country side. The entire country just needs a proper trash disposal system and penalties to scare people from littering.
