Every single relationship in the world is transactional in at least one, if not several ways. Everyone worried about these relationships, he's using her, she's using him. Well yeah, no ship Sherlock. People the same age in relationships are using each other to meet their needs. Go bother them. It's hard enough to meet someone with any qualities at all. How much value do you think this guy has in the US dating market these days??? About ZERO??? In that country he has much value. It will be no coincidence that they will be province girls..the cultural difference is massive here in the phil’s. You will be seen as a walking atm ..plus don’t think it’s really accepted and it’s not. I'm in a similar situation about a year behind you and thought the same thing. The problem is finding a Filipino in her 40's or 50's that is not married. Divorce is very difficult, lengthy (5 to 10 years), expensive to impossible in the Philippines plus if you're a foreigner and sleeping with a married woman its a crime. "When" her ex finds out you could be blackmailed for $10,000, $30,000 or more and doesn't matter if they've been separated for 20 years because in their law she is still married to him. And he "will" find out because all of these villages and families are so closely connected. That's the problem of finding an attractive Filipino in her 40's or 50's because if she's ever been married before there's about a 99% chance she's still married. Divorce is that difficult in the Philippines. That max help explain why you see a lot of the expats with younger women. Many would prefer a 40 or 50 year old but its like trying to find a needle in a haystack or risk being blackmailed or jailed.

USA has always had a political divide, nothing has changed. I clearly remember the Lyndon Bains Johnson years and the only thing that is different is that we did not have the internet and twenty four hour news back then. Everyone has the option of turning this crap off. I also clearly remember the double digit inflation, interest rates and unemployment rates of the Jimmy Carter years. In comparison, things are much better now. I live in a major midwestern city ( not Chicago ) and myself and all of my friends live solely from Social Security including entertainment costs , We use our savings only for traveling and gifting. You may wish to consider loading up a U Haul and relocating . I am coming to Philippines for three months a year because Florida gets too crowded during the snowbird months.

We don’t feel the 20 year age gap when we are together. But, Filipinos notice it and have commented about it, occasionally. Don't be judgemental. I'm a Filipino. Had a family neighbor and childhood friend. Came from a well off family here in Cebu. In short there not poor. Way back then I notice her she likes to have a relationship with an older guys even Filipinos themselves. I happen to ask her. Why is it like that. Your not that desperate for a relationship. Your young, educated came from a family of well off in the province. The one thing she always says to me is she like older guys for maturity, sencerity and sense of compatability for her. I short she marries an Australian with around 25 years age gap. The family and kids of Australian taught she only wants their dad for financial security. So when it happen they visited their dad in Cebu. OMG Surprise surprise. They wasn't expected how well off the family of the girl. The moment they landed on the airport. They were fetch up with 2 SUV from the girl family. A d having dinner to meet the whole bunch of the family. For sure a lot of people notice right away their reaction that seems says it all. They were wrong. 😅😅😅. Till now they were happy married coming back and forth to Cebu. I happen to talk with the family of my friend. Telling me and reminding my friend don't ever ask something financial to your hubby. Fir his her hubby himself knows that. Last year they had there 15 year marriage anniversary....

Being the younger (more “impressionable and vulnerable”) one in this pairing, the ONLY thing that matters is what these two think and feel, with the emphasis leaning towards her. Watching them, there is no way to judge their choices and their life together. The ONLY ones who may actually weigh in at all on their relationship is her family… and it seems, given the REALITIES of the world today and the obvious care and resources he provides to their daughter, I’m sure they are more than fine with their daughter being respected AND cared for!! And that’s the bottom line. What I see is a man who was likely beaten up and fed up of the ubiquity of snotty, difficult American women and decided that he STILL had plenty to give and offer for the simplicity of having joyful companionship. Men’s needs are so much simpler and easier to please than women’s. This is a perfect example of this truth. And one truth about men is that we DO appreciate the beauty of youth/youthfulness. That’s a hardwire in us. I am in a similar age gap relationship 62::28. My family is concerned about this age gap, reason being " gold digger". I tried to explain to them that actually older women are more prone to be gold diggers as they dont have time on their side. Younger women make great wives, because they can be molded to the mans lifestyle. Older women are more set in their ways, they have also experienced a lot in their lives, so compared to a younger woman its more difficult to get appreciation and genuine happiness. Yes I am the provider, she benefits from that, but i am more than happy to see her smile, keep a clean and neat house, cook healthy food and have a young sexy woman in bed. Am sure she would hate it if you found someone else who liked to video chat every day, but she get over it eventually. Not every girl you meet online is going to jump on the bandwagon just because you think she should. Its very hard to know if she is the right girl until you meet them in person. Is she sharing her social media with you like facebook? If so then she just may be hesitant until she meets you in person. Can't really say how committed to you that she is with only 2 sentences of feedback but you will have a good idea once you meet her. Just watch for the red flags and don't drop your guard. You can meet her somewhere out side of the airport if you are not sure about her. Good Luck!

As far as how she is going to be when he is gone, a good man will try to leave her a nest egg or a house to his wife so she may carry on without him, and possibly help with kids if she has them. That will be up to him and in time he may do that. Wouldn't expect him to just give everything to her right away.

These filipinas value security above most things, and I'm sure her father would want to know this much older man is giving her that, and into the future. The future is the problem for relationships like this. This young woman will be facing many years without this man, years of which will be the prime of her life. One assumes she will re-marry. But to who..? I doubt she will want a filipino partner afterwards.. It would be interesting for a study to be done on what happens to the filipinas after their much-older Western partner dies. One assumes she is provided for by a partner's Will, but it would be interesting to know what they go on to do with their lives, and most importantly, what kind of intimate relationships they go on to have. These big age-gap relationships seem wonderful, but, in the end, it looks like it could be pretty hard on the women. Yes, they've had a few good years living well (far beyond what they could have imagined), but the 'come down' following the loss of their partners must be hard for some (on top of the grief of loss, which must be extremely difficult on its own - they've lost a father as well as a partner..).

The 3 girls I work with are from there & based on what I see are the most loyal private good working people I've met. The guys are just normal middle-class guys ranging in age.
