I don’t think I want to start a fashion brand but I’ve always enjoyed the stories and thought processes you share on tik tok. I’m a fan of you as the entrepreneur and story teller and as someone who came from marketing and branding background I agree about the points on branding. Find your salad first before making the dressing!😂

I think the generosity is Ken's true "key to success." Every time you encounter him on your social feed, he's bringing value. Then when you encounter his product, you are predisposed to trust him and want to be part of what he is creating, because you're already convinced of the value he provides. He is very inspiring in this way, and I think more people could do better if they were like Ken.

Ken, Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience. Im a 22 year old that has been looking into starting a fashion/clothing brand for the past 1/2 years trying to learn as much as possible whilst balancing work and figuring out life. The attention to detail and honesty in that video just kept me hooked. I just know I'm going to go back and watch this video several times to pick up more pieces of information I orginally missed. I've been looking for a video like this for such a long time and I'm so greatful that you have decided to post this, please continue to do more videos similar to this. You are a legend.

I decided to try to make my own clothes earlier this year. After learning to sew and being able to make something I love for myself, I've been daydreaming about starting a fashion brand and small collections. I have deeper ideas and things I'd want to explore, but it feels like it would take so much time. I liked your direction about starting with something simple or one piece. Inspirational stuff, thank you - from a fellow Melbournian.

Damn, I have a fashion brand for 10 months now, we create couture dresses for special occasions and I just want to thank you for the information but also I just feel seen. I have a day job myself and managing these two has been exhausting (have been wanting to quit almost every week). Two months ago we got to do a dress for Nelly Furtado and there are things that still keep me going but oh my god, the struggle is real and there is always a fire to be managed. Thank you!

Hi Ken, isn't marketing budget SEPARATE from cost of goods then calculate margin? Or do you recommend baking marketing and cogs together then established your profit like your video?
@FrontOfficeCoАй бұрын
You can do whatever you like when you’re a one person business. As long as you understand your costs you’re good to go. I included it because new brands get carried away with huge photoshoots and buying online ads for small releases.
@filmingyu6623Ай бұрын
@@FrontOfficeCo Thank you. Would you say that new brands can increase their marketing budgets to 15%-20% to get traction? How would you proportion organic vs online/FB ads efforts? And is it a good idea to start running ads from the beginning (even at $20-30/day)?
@FrontOfficeCoАй бұрын
@@filmingyu6623 Hi there. I'm the wrong person to ask for what 'normally happens' in marketing I'm afraid. I've never run ads, ever. My marketing budget is not significant.

see the thing with doing that brainstorm idea and post, some of your best ideas that you do this with will be stolen and sold at a price you cannot afford EG nike or a big brand scrapping through ideas because there designers out burnt out.
