I wrote off my first in 2014 when i lost the road and i was lucky to walk away. I bought my second during lockdown on the strength of the safety aspect. Five years on apart from a brake line replacement, there's nothing happened that I haven't been able to do myself. Belts, oil line, AR bushes fuel filler pipe all done myself. Just need to figure out why i lost power over christmas, but it still keeps chugging away, bless her. I shall mourn her when she's gone but i will fight every inch to keep that from happening. 2.5 Equippe in both instances.

Shogan sport has centre diff locks. The centre diff Locks when you engage 4h and 4l. The best way to find out is engage 4h on a hard surface and try to go in a circle slowly, and you were here, the tires scrubbing. And also the Shogun swat has a hybrid limited slip, diff in the rear axle.

Got the American version 1999 Montero Sport. Had it since 2001. Great car a few scratches and clear coat paint on roof and hood needs attention. That's expected at that age sitting in the sun everyday. 100,000 miles runs other than the standard matinance (Fluid changes, brakes, belts) have only had to replace the radiator one month ago at 99,000 miles. Have taken it on several 500 mile trips. Other than the power issue and low MPG no complaints.

Mines 20yr old, just had an engine rebuild and got battle scars. The chassis and body are still solid. It's perfect for everything as stated looked after these will keep going. Not the most economical on the motorway. Definately at home in the country side, when ever i come across an byway i go down it.

I've got a 96 JDM Mitsubishi Challenger Sport 2.5 turbo.. same as yours but different headlights. Needs a little bit of work to get back on the road but I'm looking forward to it.

Love the practicality of an suv. Would be great to know if there is a good fast and fun vehicle for towing a big caravan, which could replace a hot hatch 😢

That’s a tough call ….. ability to tow a caravan and hot-hatch performance tend not to go together 😂

That field did look a bit sloppy for such non aggressive tyres. Nicely done(low ratio reduces spin obviously)

I'd like to use one for a commuter to work and back but it'll also be a part time light off road toy, nothing too heroic just want to get it a bit muddy! I don't really care for comfort and all that, I just want it to be really reliable and not let me down! So would you say it's a decent idea? I also had a land rover and the front diff went bang 😂

Mine has been super reliable and gets used most days albeit mostly for shorter journeys. Only thing to consider regard using as a commuter is the poor mpg and it’s agricultural nature/performance (it’s slow!)

@@FastandFun the speed isn't really too much of an issue for me as I don't really care about getting around quickly 😂 the mpg could be better but then what 4x4 does good mpg 😂

@@FastandFun Hello. Listen to that story. I have just purchased one of these but 3.0 V6, awesome vehicle and powerful engine! It is equiped with LPG instalation so it doesn't ruin the budget. It is like driving a tank! And unfortunately it's driving position is just a nightmare... So I was going to replace original seats with some audi or citroen C5 ones. But listen to this! After couple days of owning this car, I had to give it back, the vehicle had some hidden legal defect... Currently I am looking for another one 👍 Regards

Does this SUV have electronically assisted 4x4 like breaking the sliping wheel and such? Or is it fixed power transfer 4x4 on demand? Thank you! :)

I specifically bought one because i felt the Shogun had too much headroom for me. I'm 5ft 8" (173cm)
