30,000 HOURS ON A TRACTOR??

Күн бұрын

The video starts off with Daddy Cornstar maneuvering equipment around the main heated shop and then he came over to the main farm to help me set up a 10" auger to the 32,000 bin. After running into a few small hold-ups, we got the auger set up.
Once we got the auger up, we started having issues with the Oliver starting. It would start perfectly one second, and then would not turn over the next. We suspected a dead battery. I found some jumper cables and that fixed the issue - so we thought. It would still do what it was doing off and on but then just decided to work. We never complain when stuff works how it should! The Oliver has been a workhorse for us and we have owned it since it was brand new in the late 60's. This tractor has somewhere around 30,000 hours on it.
Once we messed with that for awhile, I had to take the 2005 Bobcat T190 and dig a hole under the swing hopper to allow us to drive a semi over the swing auger. While I was doing this, Anna was going crazy on a rat nest.
Before the video ended, Cooper and I went around the bin site finalizing several small issues. We are completely ready for full blown harvest now!
Thank you for watching!

Your intro has gotten so perfect. Somehow your videos started coming up in my feed 🤷‍♀️. But, once I clicked on one, I was hooked. Thank you Cole for growing my appreciation to all farmers out there. I’m amazed as I watch these videos ( I’m recovering right now from a knee replacement surgery ) as to how educated you guys have to be on pretty much everything. And how hard working you are, even in the winter. You three are amazing mechanics, and I enjoy watching you organize and clean these farmers. For whatever crazy reason everything fits together really well on these videos. Your dad always makes me smile and would love to see more of your brother working and your rock star mom maybe making and canning her salsa. Even would love to see more of your town. Anyway, you guys rock and I’ve passed your channel on to others I think would enjoy watching what you do 👍

Awesome family heritage. A lot of love and respect from one generation to the next. Daddy Cornstar is a gentle and thorough teacher. It is no wonder the boys walk tall in his footsteps. Cole might want to rethink the issue of trees. They anchor the soil, keep the water table higher in the soil. Maybe there are hardier vertical trees, smaller branches? Home for the birds, which reduce bug/pests.😀

I remember open cab tractors too, DaddyCorn. When I first started farming, I bought a IH 574 in Quebec and drove it home to NY so I didn't have to pay trucking. It was only about 60 miles, but it was March! It was sunny, in the 40's and I was bundled up, but I didn't think about the snowbanks melting into puddles on the road so I got soaked with road spray from the front wheels. Plus the border guards about freaked out when I pulled up on a tractor lol! Seems like the Oliver may have a bad ground cable. And Yay, we get treated to some Momma C. humor today. Thanks!

Lol...that is some hard core frugality. I'd love to have seen the looks on their faces when you pulled up to the border in your tractor! Surely they thought, "Yep, now I've seen everything." ,or "I'm not worthy!" You know you made it into their dinner conversations that day.😃

I think there is a new cornstar and it's Anna the terrier 😉. Looks like you could've used some of that dirt to fill the holes she was digging. I also think that you missed the Heinz ketchup on your supper. That would be the Daddy Cornstar way.😂😂 👍👍🙏

Summer, you're doing a GREAT job editing the videos! Don't listen too closely to Daddy Cornstar. Oh, but, you already know that as the oldest of the Cornstar siblings. 👍👊😎😊 Again, great job!!! P.S. Sand in your teeth? In Iowa? Didn't know that was a possibility. 😨🤔 Good to know! 😍😜👍

Make sure you mask up even when sweeping up dust in the old sheds. My father in-law is in hospice due to 3 types of lung diseases (Farmers lung). Please take the time to protect yourself. Thanks for the videos!!!
