Going Broke FARMING....Breakdowns

The video starts with Dad and I fixing my mother's van on the side of the road, in the rain. Dad had an enjoyable time working in the rain. We exnded up not knowing the issue with the van so we had to pull it into our local mechanic. Since it was raining, I started cleaning the heated shop at my house again. I got a decent chunk done in the shop and then the rain quit so Daddy Cornstar and I ran out to check corn moisture in a few fields.
We decided we could start harvesting corn later in the afternoon so we brought the combine home and starting getting things ready. The red Volvo and the Freightliner were both having minor breakdowns that we needed to take care of.
Once we got those fixed, we got the 2208 Case IH corned on the 2001 Case IH 2388 combine, and we started picking corn.

My husband did some work in Iowa this summer. We were in Des Moines. But traveling through and seeing all the farms and the champion seed signs made me curious about how all the farming worked.... and what do you know... came across your channel about a month ago! You are a 22 year old farmer and I am a 54 year old procrastinator. Your approach to work, especially decluttering, has been an inspiration for myself. I wanted to thank you for sharing your views on life and the farm. My Grandfather farmed wheat and mustard fields (not sure if these are the right terms) so I have huge respect for all of you. Tim, the videos are already in sequence by date of post. Go to his channel and click 'VIDEOS' and you will see all in sequence from most recent to first video posted. It is very easy to follow this way and after you have viewed a video a red line will appear under the thumb nail showing that you already viewed that episode.

The videos show up in my recommended, without the red lines and having them numbered would help me know if the videos are in sequence. I really enjoy your videos. I grew up in the San Joaquin Valley in California and we raised corn, cotton, almonds and english walnuts. We planted on furrows because we had to irrigate. We always cut the stalks and burned the stubble. We did heavy disking because it would severely plug up the planters if we did the light disking. Watching this brings back a lot of great memories. I know your pain with all the breakdowns.

You introduced your roommate, Noah, on a day with heavy rain; far out. We used to make our own solution for loosening rusted bolts by mixing transmission fluid with acetone (50/50). It works amazingly well but be careful because it’s extremely flammable.

I deal with a lot of block heaters on the equipment I work on and I’ve never found one that circulates the coolant. Usually it just heats up all the coolant as time goes along.

YES, my buddy that use to work on the farm that I work on would unload on the go backwards all the time! And he did it with an articulated JD 9220 and 1100 bushel Brent grain cart! I had tons of video of it from the combine seat on one of my old iPhones, but unfortunately none of them were ever uploaded to KZbin.....

We've had allot of trouble with our newish CR9.90 till i called it a Kongbine then it ran better, accidentally called it a combine yesterday and broke the center feed roller on the header....Kongbine it is!!

Nothing says fall like the brown corn in the field My favorite time of year Getting a whole bunch of pumpkins and corn stalks bundled up to set outside of the door Makes great Halloween decorations With bales of straw I used to call it hey but they told me it's actually straw and I don't know what the difference is. I use it to decorate and also to cover the grass seed in the summer my lawn did not grow all summer long and I switch to a different grass seed and threw it down a couple weeks ago and it's just starting to grow now I was worried because it went below freezing but they said that the seeds would survive the frost and they did We also had about four inches of rain over the last week so that helped a lot

I love your vids. A little advice, that inside cover being off that electric 3 phase panel is extremely dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. I'll bet all electricians cringed if they saw it. Just hate to see someone get hurt or killed.
