I have been watching your channel for years when you had homemade jigs and tables. You have grown into a full production shop. I have also noticed that you and several other KZbin woodworkers have moved to large shops. No one has a garage shops anymore. That’s great for everyone and I’m looking forward to seeing you make some projects in your new shop.

Jay, you have an amazing shop that will be the envy of many!! One thig I noticed is the POW/MIA Sticker. I don't know why you have it but being a Vietnam Vet I can tell you it is appreciated. As of March of 2016 there were still 1, 621 soldiers and airmen still missing and unaccounted for and the issue of accountability is still relevant. So, thank you and continue with the excellent work you do. We all appreciate it.

Hi Jay, awesome video. I really like the detailed documentary how you explain the setup. You were talking about bolting the frame to the floor but with the plywood walls you could find some square brackets and secure it to the wall if needed. Thanks again.
@JayBates5 жыл бұрын
If needed is the key bit of info there. I'd prefer not as it will transfer vibration and sound to the wall if you do so. Not the end of the world if you do but I'd prefer not for that reason.

All the metal tube on the intake side is top shelf and very efficient. But the plastic flex tube going to the filter has to restrict flow. Both sides of the air flow have to match for efficiency. Just something I noticed.

Why not connect a dowel or pole to the flex hose connected to your table saw and main system? That way it'll stay straight/coiled and won't sag, making it so you don't have to cut it down. Great video!

Jay, thanks for all you do posting videos, they are great. The ones you have on dust collection have been especially helpful. I just bought a CV1800, and am trying to decide between PVC and Clamp Style piping. Its quite a price difference, so my question is when you had you Clear Vue with 6" pictures piping, how did it perform compared to your new set up? I now the clamp style is much better for moving, but is the performance that much different? Thank you

Hi Jay nice video. Wondering with your shop up and running if you have measured indoor air quality with a Fluke or something similar. Would love to see numbers with doors open, w/o, with an air scrubber running etc. I too love in MI and want to be able to work safely indoors but am only willing to spend this kind of coin for system that is controlling the fine lung damaging dust. Reading experiences of others sometimes you spend alot and don't get the results

Just came across this video now randomly when thinking dust collection for my 30x40 shop. Any reason you didn't go 7" pipe for the main horizontal runs tapering to 6" for the drops? Also, how did you mount your power drops for plug ins for your tools in your "islands". I see flex conduit, but just curious if boxes are mounted to floor or other areas. Thanks!

Can anyone who has experience with clearvue cyclones tell me how much fine dust is accumulated after the filters as compared to the main dust bin? I’m thinking of exhausting outside rather than through filters. I don’t have neighbors but don’t want dust to accumulate on my roof.
