My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv's book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages”. The book " Polyglot Notes" became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. Thanks to the author of the channel for this interesting video! Good luck to everyone who studies a foreign language and wants to realize their full potential!

Why is the word hedgehog 🦔 so important in Russian it’s in a lot of learning videos!?
@user-ie9mc9yp9m

Because there are 2 words beginning from the "Ё" which come to my mind: "ёж" and "ёлка" (a fir-tree). When you need to use a swear expression using an euphemism you may say: "Ёкарный бабай! (yOkarniy babAy!)" or "Ёшкин кот! (yOshk'in kot!)". The Babay is an evil being in the guise of an old man who frightens children and the Yaga's cat is a pet of BAba YagA - a witch who lives in the forest and eats children.

as russian, i have no idea but fun fact, our alphabet goes like г, д, е, ё, ж (где ёж)("ёжик" is the same world, but its like baby hedgehog, or just if your want to say it more cute) which makes a phrase literally translating like "wheres hedgehog?"

in russia we dont say : “твое лицо очень красивое» we just say : “ты/вы очень красивая»
@_Lumiere_
@_Lumiere_ 2 жыл бұрын
For it to be grammatically correct: Твое лицо красивое (adjective in neuter since "face" is gender neutral in Russian, literally "your face beautiful" but using grammatical cases, something English has largely lost, so it isnt as weird as it sounds)! Большое спасибо, Катя! "Мне" isnt used here, but the explanation requires learning quite a bit of Russian grammar. If you wanted to specifically say "to me", you would be forced to put something like "In my eyes" at the beginning. This can be done in many ways, but generally, it is superfluous; "Your face is beautiful" already implies that the speaker is the one who finds it beautíful :)
