How to make the best use of all the tools that exist depending on the type of gaming that the person wants to do. Those types of videos are the ones that give the most reach and numbers, and surely it would be a great help. I am an enthusiast and I have studied a lot of the subject, I still learn with your videos. And I am sure that those who want to understand how all this works, would be very grateful.

@@ejdhdjejejebdnem nah, as I said, with GPTK2 and translations, you can run most modern games. Sure, it’s not going to perform as well, but you don’t buy a Mac for gaming. You buy those for productivity and hey, if there’s a game you wanna play and actually works fine now, then why not? Though I’m not the target audience with a RTX 4080 desktop lol. I just like Apple laptops.

If anyone is interested in extremely complex grand strategy games that puts the Civ & Total War franchises to shame, I highly recommend any of the Paradox games, notably Europa Universalis IV, Hearts of Iron 4, Crusader Kings III. Get ready for tons of hours of complex fun. For tactical sims, XCOM2 is the beast. And if you are a fan of the Gloomhaven board game, the digital version is amazing. have fun!

I got the new M4 Mac Mini and found that half the games won't work with a controller, and those that do I need to enable Steam Input. I've tried an XBox controller, an 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth (tried wired, 2.4GHz and Bluetooth), and an 8BitDo SN30 Pro (wired, wireless xinput, dinput, and macOS). It can't really be this bad with controller support is it?

Question: When I play a non-steam game on my M2 pro Mac Mini a dialog box say ‘Entering game mode’. If I play a game in steam the mac never says entering game mode. Am I losing performance on steam?

I would suggest you have a look at Carrier Command 2, it's a bit of a niche strategy game, a remake of an 80s classic, and works well on my M2 Pro

It’s like a broken record. The M1 is 4 years old at this point. It will just have considerably worse performance and that’s all you need to know. There are other videos on this channel that show the difference.

Forgetting the biggest - Sims 4… it runs natively on ARM, apple silicon and is optimized for metal. With an M3 Pro I was getting 90+ FPS at 3K Ultra settings. This was better performance than a 4070 Zephyrus G14 with a 8945HS CPU (I tested both)… and was actually the only reason I got a MacBook for work instead of the G14 because MacOS is better streamlined for my work over windows, and as a bonus runs sims 4 better than most windows laptops I’ve tried. Of course a high powered $3000+ gaming laptop outperforms an M3 Pro MacBook, but then again the M3 Max competes well with those high end gaming laptops

Sims 4 is a fantastically optimised native Mac game but the macOS version is Origin only, not on Steam :).

A lot of these games would be so good on iPad pros with m series chips, especially Valhime. I hope we can get Lies of P on M chip iPad Pros soon, that game is very well made and optimised. I’d love to see boulders gate 3 also, but i have a feeling this will need the M4 for the extra power and tbh be the 16gb iPad. So i have a feeling these very large games wont come to iPad pros until Apple start giving 12-16gb Ram as standard.

I think Rosetta should have included emulation for 32 bit titles. It is possible, Apple just didn’t implement it. Most of Valve games like half life, left 4 dead, team fortress 2 etc. work on 32bit so parallels is the only option, even though they used to work on intel macs

I'm crying right now. I started to play Valheim a week after Ashland's update release (~20 may). At that moment there was still no Mac version. So I played on my MacMini m2 8gb, by using Whisky. Low settings, crashed twice (black screen , had to power off manually). Ashland's unplayable. And now! Now, you are telling me they realise Mac version. I finished it less than weak ago ffs! (xbox cloud gaming) ;) Anyway Valheim is a great game, strongly recommend, specially in cooperation. Peace
