I would recommend before playing Metro Exodus play Metro 2033 and Metro last light. Absolutely worth your time and money.

If you haven't already played them, Valve games are all like a buck each. I would definitely recommend the Portal series, the half life series and left for dead 2. Although if you want them all I would go for the complete collection which is a good deal. Also Celeste is 5 bucks and hollow knight is 7.50. These are absolutely brilliant games that are must plays.

In the under $3 category (well, it was like €2.99 so perhaps more like under $5), I would also recommend the Unravel games. Chill puzzle games with an atmosphere that "amazing" barely achieves to describe (and you can even play unravel two in co-op)

I highly recommend. Honestly I thought Yooka Laylee was kinda mid, but this 2D platformer sequel is literally one of the greatest ever made. It's really hard imo, which I can appreciate as most platformers to me are fun but not very challenging.

Binding of Isaac is amazing, sucked up a lot of my time when I was 14. Once you get really good at it and know all the items it really picks up. The DLCs are also just great expansions.
