It was my first time to make a KZbin video, and I didn't know what to buy for the equipment, so I was able to shop with peace of mind without losing money. I'm glad I met this video before I bought it. Cospa is really good. I'm really thankful to you.

Cheap microphones are now pretty good. In regular use cases where conditions are optimal, such as regular sized bedroom, little background noise, speaking about 1-2ft away from the microphone, it's going to sound just as good as microphones even in the high $300's. The difference comes in when you have to edit post production and also in less than optimal conditions. For most people wanting a mic for their laptop or desktop, there is no need to go for anything over $50 nowadays.
@officialedits94784 жыл бұрын

I use the blue snowball and to be honest don't feel I need to switch mics any time soon. This mic sounds close to it despite being 10 dollars or so cheaper though, so it is a good starter mic. However I recommend waiting until you can afford a mic in the $100 range. Mics like the Shure MV5, Blue Yeti, and various other mics are more preferable. For the time being though, if you're nifty you can make any mic sound good
@tackier-n2g5 жыл бұрын
I don't understand why you would even think about buying any mic more expensive than this one. It sounds not too far off to the Blue Yeti which was around $100 too. I understand if you're an audiophile and want it to sound the best it can, but he sounded good and I don't see much reason to get anything more expensive. Diminishing returns.
@Nihlm5 жыл бұрын
@@tackier-n2g if you do enough testing anybody can pick up on the difference between mics of all sorts of price ranges. Some microphones are a lot better at canceling out audio, some have a proximity effect, some just sound *different*. There's a lot of different reasons why the specific mic you use matters, especially for voice overs.

Hi there, sorry about the issue. But glad to know there's an app can help! Btw, you can also turn down the dial to less than 50% and get the mic itself closer to your mouth, which would do a better job than an app can offer. This method does not involve any process that may affect the sound quality (distortion), it also help with rejecting background sound a bit.

Hi there, hissing is usually related to self noise level of a mic, so-called equivalent noise. If we're honest, K669B is not the quietest mic but also not the noisy one. The problem you experienced is most likely caused by I/O volume settings. First off, it's crucial to control input signal. The last thing you want to have is over-boosted signal with noise. And FIFINE mics are rather sensitive, so specific to K669B, the dial should be at around 50% to get started with. Next, you may need to set computer input and output level at around 70%. If you think the noise is still not acceptable, it's possible because of poor or defective connection or interference from other electronics. So just test it with another USB port and without other device plugged into the port right next it. Air blowing and background sound are not quite relevant in your case, but to get the best possilbe result out of it, just get the mic closer to mouth around 3 inches but keep in mind to talk slightly pass it avoid popping. At last, if you want no noticeable noise at all in your recording, just simple steps to extract noise file and apply noise isolation in your recording tack.

How can you guys not hear the hiss in the cheap USB mic.... that is horrible! Good luck with compression and eq lol

Lovetohatehatetolove lower gain, throw in noisegate. Seriously this shit is not rocket science
@FIFINE5 жыл бұрын
It's really not obvious in this video unless you turn up the volume to almost 100%. And the equivalent noise is decent, so what you should address the hissing is to plug in an intact USB port, quiet and clear the use environment, set the proper gain and input level. After all these you can do less job on the compression and EQ.

i'd rather by the 669b over the yeti but I have an at2020 with a decant mixamp so I wouldn't bother

So this a great sounding mic. AMAZING quality! Only problem is it picks up everything. Mouse and keyboard will sound very loud and annoy friends at times

I didn't realize that the fifine was peaking so much. I thought it was a recording software or pc thing. I've been dealing with it for ages, and I finally got a blue yeti
@FIFINE4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dustin, sorry about the issue. But when you do podcast, there should be level meter on the software to monitor the volume level. Though K669 is pretty sensitive, but clipping can still be avoided by adjusting the volume and speaking range. Blue's product range is more in favor of low and mid frequency, that's why you think it suis you more.

@@FIFINE Yeah you would think so, but I had the gain set for a lower setting just to make sure. You gotta realize I tried multiple gain levels, with multiple softwares. One thing I may add is that it could have been a hardware compatibility. Its rare to have issues with usb to say gpu, but I think that was happening. I was also having video issues for a while. I think the driver for the microphone didn't mix well with my audio drivers on my motherboard or even gpu. Although when I switched over to the later it got better. Also like you said it could have been I was speaking too loud, but I did try to account for that :)

@@DustinMillerPolyInnovator Umm, thanks for giving us another insight to the problem, we haven't thought of the clipping issue from that aspect.
