Yes!! I feel like even some of the "unisex" patterns I see recomended are unconsciously made with a femenine cut in mind (stopping at the waist instead of hips, sometimes having shaping at the chest area), which can make finding a project difficult because I know I'll have to make alterations and it won't be just as straightforward as following the pattern normally

Just stumbled on your channel while drinking my morning coffee....Fun story. My man is an Aerospace Engineer who just designed and had built a custom log cabin in the mountains of TN...Needless to say she's an incredible beast. I took it upon myself to start to make him a king size temperature blanket for his "big boy bed" at the cabin. I based the temperatures on the year they broke ground on the cabin(2022). I'm STILL going at this blanket (doing other projects as well)and have just a couple more months to go until this thing is finished....being that it's my first temperature blanket it's definitely been a fun project and worth every stitch. A labor of love and my largest project to date, if I ever get it done, BUT he's worth it. He's got 14 grand babies so next on the list, a "Grandpa Cardigan", of course..lol. Thank you for some more "manageable" sized idea's! My poor little Grandma fingers appreciate you!

Yay! You've listed at least two items I haven't seen everyone else suggest: scented rear-view-mirror hangings, and stress balls (rice inside a balloon, I didn't know that, thank you!) Totally agree with you on the tool-belt/tool-roll/wallet thing: making those with crochet instead of cloth or leather is going to leave you with a substandard item which the person will have to pretend to like. I've been looking at tool-roll patterns for myself, as something to store my DPNs in, and I myself would rather get something made of leather or cloth.

One thing that must be mentioned is that if you're making potholders, do NOT use acrylic. The heat of pans coming out of the oven will definitely make acrylic yarn melt after the first few uses. You'll get what looks like burnt crystals on them after a while. I learned this from experience. Also, I've had more than a few men approach me about making them cloaks and hooded capes. Living in Florida, I don't think they're thinking this through; even if they were knit, they would still be too warm here. That, and it's a lot of work to make an ankle-length garment. For those of you in colder climates, a cloak may be an option, but make sure your recipient wants one, and make sure you're willing to put in the work for such a garment.
@kerravonsen2810Ай бұрын
Absolutely, avoid man-made fibres for potholders and trivets. 100% cotton is what I usually use. Other 100% natural fibres (e.g. linen, wool) would work too.

Hello from r/newtubers! :D Scrunchies would probably make a good gift for guys, especially with more men (men, trans men, etc, all included) with "man buns" these days. Plus, if they have a good texture, they can be fun to fidget with. I bought a bunch of crochet scrunchies at a craft show a few years ago, I honestly fidgeted with them more than I wore them. I wrapped them all up together into a stress ball. (new product idea lol?)
