23 days sober today . 63 in July and i've been drinking since i was 13 . So much time , relationships and money lost . 12 pack per day and whiskey . My body was starting to fail & i've had enough . Good luck on your new life !

I'll be 61 next Friday, May 3, and i am currently 3 days Sober after i had a pattern like yours. An 8-Pack almost every day. Lately i have scaled back quite a bit because, like you said as well. It just wasn't fun anymore. Lack of energy, achy joints. Always tired, poor eating habits etc. I think i'm finally ready to quit altogether now. Not saying i'll never drink again, but i'm taking a LONG extended break and letting my body and mind heal. My kidneys and liver were taking a real beating. Best of luck to you to keep on your sobriety path. Have a great day! -Bob

Three days in myself (61 also)... Dawned on me that I've been getting drunk twice a week for 40+ years. I was sitting on the back porch and literally said out loud, "wtf are you doing?" ... Same conversation I had with me when I stopped smoking about 20 years ago. I'm done.
Well done...keep it going bro. There's only one winner from us drinking alcohol. Like you I kinda fell into this by accident after realising I hadn't had a drink for a few weeks. I'm now at 9 months so for me at 62, I ain't going back. There is NO safe level of alcohol consumption: good luck, and live your best life! 😊

Good job! I'm almost 5 years sober now. It's easy once you get used to it. If you can do 30 days, you can do 30 years!

You can do this. If it helps you, I am finding the beauty in many small moments. I just had to get my antenna adjusted. It is a beautiful world. Yes let’s be good to one another. Thank you

Congratulations!!! I quit drinking spring of 2019 (60 years of age) I feel so much better. I was a full blown functional alcoholic I started my day with alcohol. I am forever grateful to my son and daughter in law for quitting alcohol at the same time and letting me know if I continued drinking I would no longer have a relationship with them. Best motivation ever.
