Mon Mothma was retired many years before TFA. Much of the political friction in the novel Bloodlines comes from the New Republic lacking a strong leader after she have stepped down. She was not on Hosnian Prime, and there is more than enough room for any author to put Sinjir anywhere else than there at the time of TFA.

I'm on my second listen on Audible. It's a pretty great book. Bloodline, Phasma...most of the new books have a lot of Easter eggs and some of that explanation of canon some of us hardcore fans need - why the story turns a different way from the EU and plot for Sidious coming back in the picture.

I can’t believe that the T-85 actually survived the Hosnian Cataclysm! It was thought that most, if not all of these ships in the New Republic Defense Fleet were atomized along with the rest of Hosnian System. Glad that’s not the case anymore! Hard to believe that all 3 major X-Wing variants existed in 34 ABY! KUDOS to the Resistance for recovering them and keeping them fighting fit! I can’t wait to learn more about these ships, as well the other Rebel and Resistance starfighters when the _Rebel Starfighter Owners’ Workshop Manual_ comes out next week!

Shriv and Wedge returning were some of my favorite things about Resistance Reborn! Also, if Finn and Poe were to happen that would be pretty cool in my opinion, idk, it would feel quite refreshing. They have great chemistry, especially in the book. That's just my opinion though.

I'm reading it throughout the day today, about 25% done as of this comment, and while I agree it is a good read and I do like the call backs, my main issue thus far has been the seemingly doubling down on the mutiny during the Last Jedi. This book seems to make all the deaths are laid at Poe's feet, when there is plenty of blame to go around. While Poe was in the wrong regarding the mutiny, he only did the mutiny because Holdo refused to tell Poe that there was even a plan to begin with. Holdo failed at one of the most basic duties of being in command, ensuring that your crews moral and trust in you is high. The fact that members of even the bridge crew (Connix) took part in the mutiny shows that Holdo didn't tell really anyone about her plan, and that they thought that Poe was right that Holdo had no clue what she was doing. In fact, I think that even Rian Johnson forgot that he had explained the plan earlier in the film (I believe that one of the bridge crew says that they were trying to find a place secure enough to send out a signal to their Outer Rim allies, I think this happens right after the Raddus comes out of hyperspace after fleeing D'Qar). If Holdo had just said that they were following Leia's plan, then Poe would have certainly been in the wrong to mutiny. But I'll end my rant there because there are a lot more things about that situation that I could dive into. Still, have liked the read thus far, just wish that the plots of this book had been the plot of Episode VIII, it seems like this would have flowed better and would have expanded the galaxy more.

A lot of people did't like Luke in the Last Jedi and say that "Disney doesn't know how to handle characters", but what we see of him in the Battlefront II campaign is probably one of the best depictions of him.

I feel like I just recently learned, after watching the, "Becoming Obi-Wan," section of the Revenge of the Sith DVD/Blu-ray special features, that the guy who played Wedge Antilles in the original trilogy is Ewan MacGregor's uncle. (I don't know, maybe I heard him wrong lol I'll have to go back and watch it again I guess.) Anyway; Word 👍

Even if Finn and Poe stay just friends, at least the book and comic writers have the courage to meet the demand for LGBT+ characters (Dr Aphra, Yrica Quell, etc). Roanhorse surely knew what she was doing with the Finn/Poe moments, and new character Monti Calay is confirmed to have dated another man. _“He could see his information come up on the screen. Name, residence, job details. Some things he didn’t know [the First Order] tracked, like known acquaintances. He blushed when he saw his ex’s name. Monti hadn’t thought about him for ages and preferred not to be reminded.”_ - Page 141, hardcover

Really enjoyed the book. Sure hope Wedge is in Rise of Skywalker. I felt the same way with Poe and Finn, could be nothing, could be something, I wonder if they are willing to go there. As well as what is going on with Rey, just little hints of what is to come from her, certainly for me the most intriguing part of the story yet to come.

The thing I hate about cinematic universes with a multi media twist , is that there's really no point in reading or playing any extended media if the filmmakers are too cowardly to "confuse audiences" . If there's no chance Rex will appear on screen cos "the majority of the audience are too dumb to understand that there might be characters they haven't met in a cinematic universe" then I have no reason to care about Rex (I still do this is just an example)

While I liked rose, I didn't think they had any romantic chemistry. If there was a attraction it was once sided on Rose's part. Even her kiss seemed like thankyou or good by sort of kiss because as far as she knew she was about to die. I don't even think is was forced like many to me it was something ment to catch Fin off guard and a wake up call for him and reminder of how quickly someone he cares for can disappear like his stormtrooper buddy in TFA.

I really liked the LGBT representation in the book; the Collective spy was seemingly nonbinary and I thought it was a nice addition to added representation in the SW universe :) And some passing mentions of homosexual relationships were added bonuses too. Yay being seen in Star Wars books :)

@@IanM92 I said it above. Poe and Fin work really well as best friends, like Han and Luke. The scene where they become best friends in TFA while getting shot down is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Additionally, I really liked the subtle romance between Rey and Fin. Last jedi had a little bit of that, but I with they finished out that story in Rise of Skywalker.

I enjoyed the book. It was a fun adventure with all the nods and connections I love. As expected though, there were no answers to questions I have from previous sequel films or many clues to The Rise of Skywalker, as far as I read.

I was able to see an early screening of Rise of Skywalker and I can say there’s a two hour and thirty five minute sex scene between Finn and Poe. I really felt like it added to the story immensely
