Yesterday I was guided by your meditation on my walk. I slowed my thoughts down and became aware of compassion. I haven’t exercised in a bit and have been stuck at my desk on most days, doing this helped me on first solo 30 minute walk. Typically I feel too awkward going alone but this was very helpful. Thank you!

Thank you for the walking meditation session Adam. I found myself more distracted than the first time, but I enjoyed it as a gift of the earth, while I was exhaling a bush was moving as if my breath were moving it. I felt a huge connection with Mother Nature. Namaste.

Thank you, love and light! This political climate has me so stressed and every time I saw a sign in someone’s yard that usually fills me with annoyance or anger, I practiced sending love and that was nice.

Thanks. Discovered this today. Love that you leave space for one's own experience. And then with a few words help out to get back on track or offering different things to observe. Around me as well as abstract things. Also good without any music etc, so one can focus on the outside sounds. The only thing I noticed was you mentioning flowers. In Sweden it's now winter.

Today I walked slow I used earplugs to pay attention to how hard I was walkING because if I really stomp like a power walk, that sounds soloud in mySkull so I walked very slowly so that my feet hit the ground so softly This was a very cool experience I realized there was no rush What an epiphany yes Amajor epiphany because Normally I Mindlessly walk at such a rushedpace, stomping and looking all over it was cool to go nice and slow and it was still enough exercise

Thank you, this was nice. I needed to refocus a little on the walk to work this morning. I like that you didn't talk non-stop and left gaps to just look around, breath, and walk. But I think nust slightly less quiet time would be good as occasionally, I thought the video may have ended or been interupted.

this video is strange. in a good way. i heard the neighbors voices when he said to be aware of noises, walked by some flowers when he mentioned them and how they dissolved, a pickup truck drove by as he reminded us to ignore distractions, strangely accurate. even just now said keep bringing awareness to breathing and walking as i’m typing this comment about to walk into a garbage can😂

Many thanks for your important question - which i initially address on page 15 of Guide to the Mindful Way of Life & then later of page 94 in the Mindful Walking section, see first section below: Listen to the City
 In the middle of distraction come to 
 enjoy an urban stillness
 This practice is slightly more challenging and can help us if we work or live in a busy environment. The sounds of the city are numerous: traffic, talking, music, the hubbub of conversation, extractor fans, and sirens. When we walk through the city, we tend to be heading somewhere, on a mission, our mind partially in the future or past. Even if we stop and take a coffee or pause for lunch, our mind is still moving, rushing; distracting us by looking at our phone, reading a book or a newspaper. In this training, although we are in the middle of busyness, we stop and listen. Why would we listen to the city? These are the sounds around us right now, the sounds of the present moment, and through listening to them, whatever they are, we can draw our attention into the here and now, tapping into the world of mindfulness. ❖ You are going to stop in the city, maybe in your office, on a bench, perhaps in a cafe. Either gently rest your eyes, or keep them slightly open. Just abide for a short time and do nothing other than listen to the sounds around you. Use the sounds as hooks to bring you fully into the present. Open your ears mindfully to the sound. Allow whatever sounds arise to bring you into the present moment. Abide within the concrete jungle, bringing your attention inside. Whatever the sounds are, you do not need to label them as good or bad, all you need to do is mindfully open your ears with a non- judgmental awareness. Gradually allow the sounds to guide your mind into the present moment. Practise this training for as long as you are comfortable, perhaps a few minutes, or longer if you have time, and you will start to get into the flow of the training.
