Thanks for this, great systematic routine. Question on backhand volley-I see you use two handed backhand for this, though most teachers teach one handed backhand volley. Seeing how much speed you can create with the two handed I might be sold on that!

You can have same speed with the one handed volley! It is all about timing and using your body weight. I do both volleys!

I agree that repetition is important to develop the muscle memory needed for consistency. However new players in particular need to be aware that if their stroke technique is flawed then it can be difficult to undo the flaws and retrain the body. In addition, flawed technique especially in the service motion can lead to shoulder and elbow injuries. If this is happening then probably time to get a lesson from a professional. For much older players repetition of (60 balls and more) can result in arthritis and other injuries that are “age related”. So be careful. . In conclusion I think your stroke techniques are fundamentally good and your comments very helpful. Thank you.

hi eli. i have a few students, juniors and adults who have ball machines. im looking to get one too, but the investment is something i have to really think about. i do agree with you about using new or newer balls for practice. many use old balls that are flat and have no real benefit. do you have opinions about pressureless balls and any entry level machines you could recommend. i see you have a tutor prolite. i see you live in the sfbay area. i hope to have the privilege to meet you some day. btw, i just subscribed but your weblink is not working. thank you.

Hi thanks for your nice words! I have tried some pressure less balls like gamma that work pretty well with the ball machine and are durable as well! My ball machine is second hand from a neighbor for a fraction of the price of the new one and works just fine as well! Good luck 👍🏻🎾🎾
