Super lesson. Very good and clearly explained and demonstrated which is so important and often missed in other instruction videos. You have to see it, not just theoretically hear it. And Gabriella is a pro you can demonstrate every stroke so perfectly and consistently!! It cannot be stressed enough! Now my takeaway: I play tennis for more than 40 years and my technique has adapted through the years and I have decent topspin forehand and (one-handed) backhand. But I always struggle with consistent depth and effortlessness which becomes more and more important if you get older and have to manage your physical resources. Thanks to your video, it is absolutely clear now that I am lacking consistent extension. I hope I can improve here which will make a ton of a difference, as the player with more depth usually has an edge over his opponent. Thanks Gabriella 🙏👍👏

Good points! Loose arm, accelerate through the ball with the straight arm. The old guys talk about the "Live Arm" and putting the "Swoosh" the racquet makes through the air - behind the ball.

This is interesting... I pretty much used this same form not long ago (my coach told me to loosen up both my wrist and grip) and my power, spins, depth and accuracy improved a lot to the point I can hit almost any corner with depth. And my reaction time improved since my arm are more relaxed

Just Beautiful 👏Gaby Acceleration and Extension , love the video, tips and exercises. One question about Extension, is that done with Shoulder Adduction (not rotation, that may come later), right? If yes, I saw another clip about shoulder adduction, where it says it should be used in emergencies (in running shots or when legs are not in position) and making Shoulder Adduction part of standard stroke every time can be painful, is that really true? And Thanks again 👍for such a beautiful video about forehand power and basics.

I don’t know about the whole wrist thing. But do agree with extension and being relatively loose. As a result your arm will rotate along with the wrist to the finish. Also power comes from ground up with the legs and not the arm
@idcharles37392 ай бұрын
How does power come from the legs? Power is speed of racket head at moment of contact. Wrist is the way to create very fast racket head speed. Check out how a whip gets to break the sound barrier. It's not from the legs.
@emjay20452 ай бұрын
The wrist takes a lot of reps. I would NOT recommend using that much wrist for most players. For those who play hours a day for Years and years … like juniors. It’s OK but most who don’t play that much NOPE🙅🏻

Often most recreational players problem (mine also) is that they never properly set themselves up for their best stance/hitting zone. You have to constantly run around and shuffle for that to happen, yet most are too lazy to do so.
